I’d say a lot of people want this aircraft in the sim, but there is disagreement on need especially since it seems that most sim users prefer more modern subject material. I’m suspecting that airliners as old as the 100/200 are quite a niche these days. Despite Blackbird allegedly continuing to work on one, I’d be surprised if it was much of a money maker.

i have noticed that there are a lot of simmers that would like to fly this old beast
and not only because of its reverse thrust but becuase of the old and mechanical characteristics of such a plane.

i have my fingers crossed for blackbird

but if they wont relese this we would have to do with the 727 FSS will release

I would love to have a B737-100/200. I would also love to have a B727-100/200 passenger version. First day purchases for me too.

Perhaps a thread title like this would be more appropriate: “I’d like to see a 737-100/200.”
Instead of “We need a 737-100/200”

It may be picky, but “We need this” and “We need that” is wrongly speaking for everyone.

Express your needs. Others will agree with you if they also want or need it.

You may be right, but the -200 with the gravel kit was sort of the ultimate bush plane. It could land on soft fields (i.e. grass and gravel strips) and they were used to support fly-in communities all over the Canadian arctic for decades. Air North only retired the last of theirs a year ago.

I keep seeing this over and over, and it really seems like folks around here almost want it to become a self-fulfilling prophecy; if that’s the case I’m really not sure why any simmer feels the need to try and stop any devs who may see their posts from developing a classic.

It’s getting mildly annoying to hear everyone say some variation of “nobody wants classic addons, all anyone should develop is modern” because one of the coolest things about flightsim is the ability to interact with and learn about classic airplanes that you’re likely to never touch or even see operating in real life. It’s one of the reasons I respect Nick at Black Square so much; he’s made it his mission to preserve the airplanes he models, in addition to making money. I fly an A320 at my day job; I want my d*** 737-200. It’s highly unlikely I’ll ever get to land one on an ice runway in real life, but wow it would be cool to do it in FS.

The 737-200 has gone far too long without a proper rendition in FS; as the variant that made the 737 a success and still does incredibly challenging work in the arctic it’s worthy of preservation as an addon, certainly just as much as an A320.

Aren’t some VTOL planes capable of doing that. Maybe the F35, or the Harrier.

The Fokker 28 can land on gravel. At least they made some tests back in the day. According to this, they vere satisfactory:
