I’ve been flying simulators since I was a little baby.
I have FSX, and X-Plane and now Flight Simulator 2020 within Game Pass Subscription.
I cannot afford additional DLC for simulators. I bought the X-Plane only for the X-15 (because there was an X-15 spaceplane, the only one of its kind) although the X-plane has ■■■■ air traffic control, FSX is better) after FS2020 I expected it to be better than FS2004 and FSX but is largely the same as in previous editions, I was hoping there would be emergency procedures like this one
Or what would happen if I flew from EPWR to EPWA and suddenly changed the direction of flight towards our Polish Seym, lowered the altitude to 3000 feet (Sejm RP) and entered the code SQUAWK 7500
I remember when we once made such a joke on my friend’s 12-year-old nephew (now he is 25, I think), he was such a cocky boy but very good heart that we set him up in the MFS2004 simulator so that he could fly. PZL-Wilga is our Polish equivalent of Cessna, but we set it up the simulator so that his engine broke, but he managed to land somewhere outside Wrocław, our city, somewhere in the middle of nowhere, outside the city in an agricultural land, he said that we did it on purpose and we said yeap we did! But he landed like pilot should outside inhabited land
Now I’m trying to fly FS2020 but I have problems because the keyboard is badly controlled, I also have an XBOX compatible gamepad, but there are problems to set it up correctly
Crashed into airport building EPWR Wroclaw last minutes of recoding
Traffic patterns are meant to be MUCH smaller than what you showed. You’re supposed to remain within 2 miles of the airport and fly a very close and strict circuit at a specific altitude (usually 1000 above airport elevation).
The idea is to have all VFR traffic conform to a pattern so everyone sees where everyone is. That way, midair collisions are prevented.
Can I suggest you read the training documents at the CIXVFRCLUB (don’t think you need to be a member, and its free). Traffic patterns are a GA/VFR thing with us so there’s a fair amount of training materials on the various patterns.
