I’m about to move to PC. Need help!

I got those two options to start. Does it have good specs? Or the most important question, does it runs without problem? Around $600 to $900

This is my last card but I don’t want to spend that money at this time. $1060 dlls

Thanks for your help everyone!

Hello there… Saw your parts and i would do some changes…

Here is a list i did for my friend he didnt build it yet byt it should be fine for msfs
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/V8nN89

The gpu has just 8gb of VRAM which is not ideal you can switch it for smthg like 7700xt,7800xt or 4070 if you have that budget (keep in mind that more VRAM doesnt mean better performance but if you dont have enough VRAM it can limit you… I would say 16gb js ideal but 12gb is okay.. it should work fine as is but you dont have that headroom…)

What you really want is a x3d CPU because it helps msfs a lot and without that you are screwed pretty much…

If you have amy question feel free to ask

You can use this as well

What is about the x3d? Where it comes?

Amd has cpu that have x3d at the end they add L3 chache (not sure about spelling) that helps kn gaming by a LOT so you really want that for msfs cuz msfs is really heavy on CPU

Got it, do you think the specs that I showed will work fine, I’m not a ultra graphics guy but something that looks decent running on 30+fps

It is hard to say how much fps you will get but i would really conscider using that 5700x3d for your build with that it could be fine… Dont know what is your budget but the build i sent should be fine on high settings 1080p but it depends on the scenario if you have some custom scenery some addon planes etc.

Thank you, will try if I can get one of those

Buy Ryzen 7 7800X3D mate.

I would agree with the track @Trevix1042 is on with one possible change:
graphics card - look at Graphics card comparison. You can possibly save some money by considering AMD or Intel cards at about the same price or less and get comparable or better performance. For example,I have an rx 6650 xt which would save you some money and it provides 60 fps at 1080 p on one monitor at most airports at high to ultra settings, especially using FSR2 and AFMF. The Intel A770 may be a better choice. There is a good thread about it on this forum that might be worthwhile readingA770 Thread. Of course, ray tracing, to be introduced in MSFS 2024, may be a consideration for you. That’s better on the 4060 and the A770.

The move to a 1 tb ssd is important in my opinion. I’ve found it necessary for MSFS.

Minimum spec cpu shoud be the 5700X, If buying a 4060 then you want the 16GB variety however they are expensive. A budget alternative would be the rtx3060(12GB) in conjunction with 3rd party frame generation. For this system I’d recommend a 750w psu.

You’re going to get 50 different CPU/GPU recommendations from 50 different people, but this is the one thing at a minimum you have to do. 1TB or more if you are going to get into add-ons.

7800 x3d requires an AM5 board and is currently $366 on Amazon.
5800 x3d requires an AM4 board and is currently $340 on Amazon.
5700 x3d requires an AM4 board and is currently $210 on Amazon.
5600gt requires an AM4 board and is currently $130 on Amazon.

For this build, it would seem like you’d want to stay on the AM4 platform to keep the price down. DDR5 memory on AM5 and an AM5 motherboard would kick the price up in addition to the higher cost above.

By going with the 5700 x3d and an AMD or Intel graphics card, you can stay within your price range yet get good performance for MSFS.

I have a 5600x with the rx 6650 xt (only 8gb VRAM), 32gb ram on an AM4 motherboard and find it very adequate for MSFS. From what I’ve read, it should perform at least as well for MSFS 2024. I purchased it three years ago. There are better options now.

If you’re looking longer term and your budget allows it, you might look at an AM5 board with the higher priced options.

What you posted is not the best value for the money…I’d suggest what @CurrentFoil3744 and @TenPatrol and @Trevix1042 mention above.

AM5 and 7800X3D would be ideal future-proof
AM4 and 5700X3D would be best-for-budget

I would not even consider a 5700X over the two cpu’s above for MSFS.

Also the suggestion of at least 16GB of vram is a good one. You can get by with 12GB but personally I’d go at least 16 if possible.

On storage I would really want to go 2TB, but 1TB would do in a pinch. Depends on how many add-ons you want to use, and whether or not you have other apps/games on there.

You can add another storage any time later…

Some thoughts:

  • MSFS 2024 is ~ 3 months away. If you can hold off purchasing until then, I’d do so. We should have a better idea of how 2024 performs on various hardware platforms by then.
I don’t know if your country (Mexico?) has holidays sales in November, but if so, you could might get your chosen PC for a lot less, or be able to get a higher specification PC for the same price.

  • MSFS will use DX12 by default. IMO, making decisions based on GPU comparisons using DX12 would be better at this point than with DX11, as I’d speculate that in MSFS 2024 post RTM, the MSFS dev team will focus on continuing to improve DX12 performance & graphics, and less time time tweaking DX11.

  • As others have mentioned, I’d not suggest purchasing a GPU with less than 16 GB of RAM.

  • 500 GB is really not enough for the Windows OS and a base MSFS 2020 installation with all world & city updates. Your ability to use the rolling & manual caches will be constricted. I suspect you’ll soon be having “There is not enough disk space to install” messages when installing MSFS or Windows updates, especially if you start downloading addons.
You really need 1 TB, as others have mentioned. If you plan to purchase a lot of payware or freeware, you should consider 1 x 2 TB or 2 x 1TB. The latter option would allow you to purchase a second 1 TB later, but just make sure where it would be installed on your motherboard & that it’s full potential can be realized in that slot.

Thank for your tips. About the disk space I really don’t care about the world and city updates so I just keep the sim how it comes, I think they’re useless for what I only care, about the aircraft flying and the 3rd party airport add on which are the 2 important things
