Despite what others have said “its a flight simulator, not a train simulator” Trains should definitely be included as part of realism, trains go thru nearly every small town and every large one. Not including them is missing out. This isnt a walking simulator, or a car simulator or a boat sim, but look at the addons.

Wow looks amazing can you keep us up to date how it goes I would love to see this in fs2020 or fs2024 
we have everything else in fs2024 base pack from the expo, oil rigs live ship traffic, cars based of regions, all we are missing is trains

It’s been said that sea bound vessels will be in FS2024 by default.
So why can’t they get timetables for trains? It doesn’t have to be 100% accurate but even running higher frequency trains on known commuter routes would be a start.

Just out of interest, is it based on real time tables or how does it work? Will the frequency of the trains be somewhat realistic?

This makes no sense…then why have photogrammy, why have detailed airports? Why have nice mountains, etc etc etc…I have said it before, flying around in msfs looks incredible but the WORLD is DEAD. Fly down the LV strip… it’s dead. No real cars, no movements, it takes away from the immersion. Flying over lakes and there’s no boats. Let’s go back to wire mountains and 2-d houses… it’s a flight sim they say. People jumped on MSFS 2020 not because of breakers and “lack of door being able to be opened” but because of realistic landscapes and the whole blackshark cities.
Trains would be great… People want to go back to FS9 guess.. they think they are real pilots on MSFS… can’t have trains, that would make it a “game”… who’s going to tell him?

I think the train addon is an amazing idea. When a dedicated 3rd party developer makes something like this, it can be much better than if Asobo added it. That is the one of the best parts of the sim, you can make nearly anything.
What’s crazy about it is that you can go on flights where you never see a train but one time when it’s there, you can get a little thrill that it’s just that much closer to realistic. It’s the way I feel about the We love VFR addon. It’s just there in the background adding the details that you don’t always notice but when you do you are happy they are there.

There used to be a Metro train parked on tracks at the end of the runway at College Station, Maryland (KCGS) that recently disappeared, at least in my set-up. All of my attempts to retrieve it have failed.
I wonder if perhaps MS removed it in view of the coming soon “FS Trains: USA” that you noted?

I just discovered that I had inadvertently removed the “Washington Landmarks” add-on where the KCGS train appears. Got it back.
I definately agree that trains would contribute significantly to increase the realism.

When I fly over railroads and see trains, they are static. Can it be possible to have them moving along the tracks, much like the cars and trucks go along the roads?
FS Trains is available in the marketplace. I recommend it although it needs more work. The developer said he will eventually add lights and 3d tracks.
