So like the title said im looking to invest in a PC just for MSFS2020.
I have a budget of 1,400 us dlls aprox and im new into this. Im looking for a pc that runs the sim with a good quality with fixed 30fps+ I dont want a insane pc, just something to be able to fly without stutters or bad quality.
This parts list should get you started.
At this moment it is at 1454USD and includes quality modern components, the only significant compromise is on the GPU but it should be more than enough to satisfy your requirements.
There is no monitor included though.
Yes you are absolutely right, and he could also reduce the RAM included in the parts list from 48GB to 32GB to compensate and stay within budget.
I did the list on a whim, it was just intended as a good starting point, there are certainly other improvements that can be made to satisfy brand preferences, budget limits and such.
Replaced PSU with the cheapest >=850W Seasonic, a quality brand, it is Fully Modular & 80+ Gold Certified, and could accommodate a future GPU upgrade.
Replaced RAM Kit with 32GB
Current price comes out a bit lower than previous list at 1436 USD w/o monitor, but inclusive of Logitech KBoard & Mice
Agreed. Currently there is no processor around that can adequately match the 4090’s performance in MSFS. I have a 7950X3D and my system is always main thread-limited
Agreed as well. 32 GB is plenty. You can always put in more later.
The 7800/650 series board also gives you room to change out to a 4070 or higher later, wouldn’t need to change anything else. If they open multi-core for 2024, you probably wouldn’t need anything unless going to 4K, that would be a huge upgrade from the game itself. Right now we’re all 2020 code-limited.
Thanks. It’s a good video. Not much new for me, but it’s certainly a good place to start for anyone not yet familiar with the excentricities of MSFS
Unfortunately with my setup I’m main-thread-limited no matter WHAT I do. Even at TLOD 10.
I can only reduce latency to levels around 10-15, which will reduce stutters significantly. I hope the new Ryzen 9000 CPUs will give me a little more processing power to keep the 4090 occupied.
