Are you going to be flying in VR? The 4070Ti would be an upgrade there.
Otherwise, I think in most situations you’re going to be CPU limited. I have a 10700 with an RX6800XT, playing on an UWQHD (3440x1440) and I’m almost always CPU limited with a plane of any complexity or in an area with traffic / larger airports.
I guess you could run with frame generation and get much higher FPS if you want nVidia to insert interpolated frames in-between rendered frames. Personally I’ve never been a fan of “fake” frames unless you’re seriously limited by your GPU.
No I’m not using VR. The main reason for me is to be able to use Frame Generation to double the frame rate.
Since the latest MSFS update my CPU isn’t running anywhere near 100% like it used to. I think they’ve tweaked it so it’s not so CPU bound. My COUnis generally running around 75-80% and the GPU around 90-100%.
I am running an i7 10700k with a 4070ti. I only have a 1080p 60hz monitor though. Having said that I created a 4K custom resolution with NVCP and the sim looked and ran beautifully on ultra settings @60 fps at any airport with AI traffic (With Frame Generation) However since the latest update I am getting terrible stutters again. Think I need a G Sync monitor in higher resolution.
My rig is an i7-10700K with a 3080Ti and I never have stutters, always smooth animation, 4K display frame rate locked at 30 fps, all display settings ultra. I use TAA and DX12.
I upgraded a couple of weeks ago from a 1080ti so no comparison really. I was very impressed with frame generation and had no problems flying into any airport with traffic in the PMDG and Fenix…VERY SMOOTH!! Unfortunately the latest update has broken my sim again. Stutters!!
I wish my eyes could see 30 fps as “smooth”. 30 is not a slideshow, but I need at least 40 to call it smooth. 60 is like butter on my 120 hz monitor 1440P at 50% refresh rate.
my rig is i7-10700k paired with 1070 ti , and last night wasnt even able to get 10 fps 10% cpu and !2% gpu, what’d happen?
well, according to my own home research , i did a cup overclocking, i dont know what i did but i went to bios , set the all core at max , 5.1 i guess, and when i got back in the air i was doing between 90 and 110 flying in the carebean , i went like wow so smooth , now i got me thinking wheter i upgrade to 4070 ti super keeping the same cpu ,
woulda make it better or worst
32’ ultrawide at 144
please help with the quest , thank you
I have i7 10k with 4070 super
Playing taa no dlss
I’m getting over 60fps
Cpu runs at 30% and GPU runs at 90%
And my ?? Is , is that a bottleneck situation or it’s fine,
The reason I ask is because I still don’t understand how we get bottleneck, thank you
32 double wide 144hz
Websites claiming knowing if your GPU will be bottlenecked by CPU are ■■■■ (IMHO). It only depend of applications or games your using. From all I’m doing with my desktop, only MSFS can set my i7 10700K to 100% on one thread, because it’s not well optimized for multithreading (MSFS2024 seems better in that domain).
When I fly with MSFS, and only for it, I apply a predetermined overclock of 5Ghz on all cores, and it’s enough to reach 60fps (my monitor max refresh rate) at nearly max settings, 4K.
For all other apps or games, this CPU is perfect and overkill, paired with my RTX4070 TS.
You be fine, At the end of the day, every single PC will always get a percentage of bottlenecking anyway, from 5% and up to whatever. The only time that you should consider bad bottlenecking is when it’s as high as 50% or 80% XD
I have 10700K (I’m surprised how many people still use 10th gen XD) that’s OC with an RTX 3090 that’s also OC and I get no problems in gaming on all epic settings with stable smooth locked FPS on 27inch at 1440p
even on CSGO, I get 144FPS even if it’s not always about CPU…
I have a mate of mine who has an RTX 4070ti super on an i7 10700 (the none K edition) and since he upgraded from RTX 3070 He’s loving it
Honest I seen people on RTX 4000 series on older as 9th and 8th gen CPU XD
