I have tried probably 30 times to fly the 787 from Chicago to Indianapolis. I used FSX for years and never had a problem.
The problem Im having in FS2020 is when i am established on the ILS approach, everything is fine. When I get to the glide slope brackets on my final, i switch from the LOC to the appr. It starts out fine, but it is not following the GS. Whatever altitude the ATC assigns right before hitting the final, the airplane does not decend to match the GS. It just stays at whatever altitude it was on and i fly right over the runway… Obviously, Im missing a step somewhere. I thought with the appr engaged, it would follow all the way to the runway before I disengaged AP.
Please advise if you are so kind… this is driving me nuts haha
Try first align to the runway with LOC and go to FL 2500, then when diamond glidescope appears and will line up with yellow line press APP, if it doesn’t work prob a bug within 787.
you must have the auto pilot engaged for approach function to work !
