I'm currently working on a tool to help choose start and destination based on block time and not distance

So hear me out on this…

There have been numerous times through my flight sim journey where I wanted to fly somewhere, but I haven’t had that much time available. This caused me to have two initial problems, wasting tons of time looking for places that might fit the real life time available and not going anywhere at all, and also having that same route I did figure out getting monotonous at times.

So…

I have started working on a simple webapp when you choose your starting location, choose the aircraft, and choose a rough amount of time you have available. In addition to this, if you use simbrief and are logged into the site, add your callsign and flight number and it will open up simbrief, and then sort your route out for you too.

I also added an airport explorer and an aircraft explorer which shows some info.

I had a look, and looks great. I will try it tomorrow with my MSFS24. I like the integration with Simbrief.

Interesting, I’d like to give this a try as I work on the same principle of available hours to SIM. I’m away for the next week so will bookmark this and try when home

I’ve just finished adding the FSLabs 321 now, I’m trying to stabilise the webserver cos it keeps crashing but the Aircraft is on there now.

Thanks, I’ve added all 125 aircraft from aviator package and the following add ons: -

All three Fenix airbus
FSlabs a321
Avro Vulkan
IndiaFotxEcho Tornado
Flying Iron Spitfire

anymore just add them and ill get on it

my pleasure, I set the destination choices to be random also, so if you don’t like the first list, click again and you’ll get a new list

I’ve made some changes, as listed below: -

  • Added GSX option for people boarding passengers or fuel etc, its conservative with 20 minutes being added to the block time thus reducing flight time
  • Added a fun little Airbus / Boeing toggle which switches the colours
  • Added a dark mode
  • Switch maps to mapbox
  • Changed the block time from minutes to a selectable time

Very useful simple addon- thank you.

I often only have an hour or two and don’t want to keep calculating distance/speed to see if I have time to complete the flight in real time.
