Have you contacted MSFS to see if they have any other suggestions ?.I have never tried it but would factory resetting the Xbox be worth a try albeit with registration hassles no doubt.MSFS may be happy to advise on that. The alternative of dumping Xbox/ msfs or buying a pc would seem a bit extreme .
Thanks but I’m not considering buying a pc not resetting the Xbox to factory settings. I don’t consider the Xbox to be the problem. I didn’t contact Microsoft simply because many of the problems have already reported some of them which are longstanding matters. I think I can get just as much pleasure from some of the other games without the frustration. Thanks anyway, happy flying.
Exactly my experience and exactly my thought.
As what you noted in your first comment, the xbox situation just doesn’t improve in case of stability and issues that have been know for over 6 months are still not resolved.
On initial Xbox launch the sim was working very very well. That was until all the updates started rolling out.
At this point i just gave up. I genuinly hope they will bring the sim back to original running conditions on xbox but i dont see it happen very soon, especially after SU10 didn’t improve very much.
Thank you for sharing your experience!
Thanks for your input, I thought it was just me.
You didn’t read about the aftermarket controller settings disappearingin Xbox. , did you. Everything worked is a funny statement.
I started the thread on the settings being lost during the initial beta, so I definitely read it. Better luck next time.
It was inconvenient, but once I reinput the settings the sim was back up and running again. Took about ten minutes in total.
And there you only have part of the big question.
The other is, why after , after some extensive PC maintenance, and clean ups, ( Windows System files checker, cleaning up Registry, making sure all dll are correctly registered etc etc ) does a PC that was consonantly failing with MSFS CTDs, then suddenly start behaving correctly;y, and all CTD stop…
Cannot speak for the X-box … no idea if one can run such maintenance tool on an X-box, never having owned on …
Super capable. Has been running silky smooth for me since before the 40th anniversary update. Haven’t tested it out with this update but generally the more study level aircraft and heavy scenery add-ons you have installed, the higher the likelihood of CTDs and stuttering.
Anyone else seeing multiplayer helicopter aircraft appearing as fixed wing models?
I just flew and landed at the Needles helipad (easier said than done) and all the other people I saw trying this appeared as bizjets instead of choppers.
SU 11 makes me feel like I’m playing some game on playstation 2 with so much rendering going on while in flight. Xbox version was running fine and looked fine before SU11. Wish there was an option to go back to SU10.
I am really annoyed with all the bugs in this game. Each time there is a new update it brings with it more bugs. Now I get either blank screens or the aircraft decides to do a full circle and spins out of control. We should be able to enjoy this, not wonder if we’ll get to our destination with these bugs.
I wouldn’t mind if it was a cheap purchase, but it isn’t.
This was a major decision to run on Xbox. They would have thought about the future. They are not silly. And also there is no way they’re going to back out. It’s like the flagship showcase of what MS can achieve on a console.
I am sure if polled the actual Devs are enjoying it, must be a huge challenge to get it working.
And not get a breath while adding more and more and more content. The fact this runs at all. Is a huge achievement. Mostly it works now.
I think in around 6 months it’ll be stable…
Then again the next consoles will be available in a year or two, or less, and they’ll probably begin to rival PC capabilities…
The X matches a medium low spec PC even now.
No problems here with SU11 and XBOX X - no CTD, no stutter at all. Flying the TBM in the Long Island/NY area. Photogrammetry is OFF. No addons. Pretty happy with this.
My experience on the Series X has been nothing but good. Too bad it seems that isn’t consistent with others.
I was the same (XsX) until SU10 (or it may have been SU9). Then I started getting lots of CTD whilst flying, which pushed me over to PC. Before that I had no issues with XBox either.
Good to know. I was barely getting any CTDs before this update but I’ve had 2 or 3 since updating the game.
However, I do have photogammetry on although no add-ons apart from two fighters.
I didn’t get CTDs during beta and now have had two or three. That always makes me suspect server issues which are common after an update when the player base temporarily increases.
While I cannot guarantee that is the issue, server issues tend to work themselves out as the bump in players normalizes a few days after a major update.
Fingers crossed.
A huge frustration of being an Xbox user is seeing a topic about a problem/issue/glitch I’m experiencing, only to see a comment from a third part offering a fix only accessible to PC users.
Problem solved! Solution granted. Thread closed.
Meanwhile Xbox users are left holding the bag with no recourse.
Xbox users need our own forum. Full stop.
This 100% i’ve had constant issues with CTD’s since SU9 and i find it difficult to judge how good or bad the experience is with other xbox users when PC specific issues are added to the mix. It probably is the same for PC pilots also who would benefit from a seperate forum.
I don’t think it would be divisive. If anyone thought that.
Indeed to have an Xbox section and Cloud Gaming section of the forum’s is a great idea.
There are some threads where it isn’t helpful to read “well it is working fine for me”. When they later reveal they’re on a top end PC …
Fingers crossed that’s possible in future.
(Poorly worded post,.no offense to anyone and hopefully the jist of what I meant is clear )
