I'm giving up!

Well, finally after downloading the latest version and testing a New York - Los Angeles flight with A320 NEO, I give up and go back to the car racing games. Nothing worked! Unplayable simulation. In desperation, I handed over the controls to the co-pilot who himself went completely crazy and crashed in the desert. So it’s over for me. I will come back to this in a few months and will continue to follow the discussion forum in the meantime. Good luck to everyone !

I’ve temporarily given up as well. I haven’t even launched the game in several weeks now. When and if Asobo repairs this trainwreck of a game, I’ll give it another go.

Good luck following issues on the forum though. The rules were recently changed to only allow happy posts. As you can see, yours has already been hidden. It has been determined that complaining about the shoddy state of the software causes a reduction in the near-orgasmic experience that fanboys here have with it.

Okay, well it makes a change from going back to X-plane 11 anyway.

I have always experienced bugs, but after latest patch, am getting more CTDs suddenly. I did brake my own golden rule of installing the SLC addon, but that’s the only alteration. I’ll try not connecting SLC and see if that makes a diff. It’s a bit soul-destroying - nearly 2 months and still virtually impossible (for me) to use.

Ditto and well said.

From car racing games to flight simulator…
Honestly, I’m not surprised you gave up.

Hey, at least the racing games work as advertised… wouldn’t it be great if FS2020 did? Even after 4 patches??? Any other software you own that still has this much broken after 4 (even 1?) patches?

It’s a fantastic game. Asobo is great!

Yes, they are great. I wish all my software, including business, video editing, music production, sports sims, etc worked so great. I don’t care if dozens of things work incorrectly. I love buying stuff and finding out parts are missing. Just give me fantastic graphics. Why should anyone complain. Just because it’s called FS2020 doesn’t mean it should work as advertised before 2021 or 2022. Yes, ASOBO is King!

Ck3 has 4000+ bug report threads and has had one major patch and i think 3 hotfixes. It was launched after msfs

Well said my friend. ASOBO are king. Couldn’t agree more

Never played a racing sim that wasn’t buggy upon release either…

Erasmus was a wise man. I wonder what he would have made of it?

I’m generally pleased to see buggies in a racing sim though

Ha!

I race too, and it is the same thing.

New sim is released.

A bunch of people call it a game, not a sim.

Others swear they will go back to iRacing or AC and wait a year to return to the new sim.

Years go by. The sim gets patched and matures.

Another new sim is released.

Process begins anew.

Be interested to know what your problems are - because I find the A320 is the only airliner that works. Well, OK, only other one I tried is the 787, but I heard the 747 had similar issues.

Anyway, I can plan a flight in the flight planner, load it up, fly from point a to b, capture the ILS, and land. Repeatedly. The only issues I have are sometimes the ILS frequency doesn’t get populated, so I have to remember to get that from the flight planning screen first, just in case, or that the ILS frequency is the wrong one (usually the opposite end of the runway). And now that I can open/close the VFR screen w/o it crashing the program, and the co-pilot can take over ATC calls again, it’s all good.

Note - I’m not saying it’s not possible that other machines/configurations/etc don’t have issues. I may be one of the lucky ones. But the A320 does work very similar to the way the 737 worked in FSX - I have to adjust my altitude by hand, but the autopilot does everything else.
