I'm so super impressed with MSFS! Ever been curious about what the full potential of graphics looks like? LOD 9.00s No Photogrammetry melt as far as the eye can see

Forgot to mention, it’s Nvidia Control panel settings for v-synch on MSFS.

Old faithful on the driver. Many threads confirm it. 457.30. I have an EVGA FTW3 3090, had to revert to an older version of precisionX1 as well, only 1 fan spun.

Reverted to the same driver 457.30.
Set
{Terrain
LoDFactor 5.000000
}
{ObjectsLoD
LoDFactor 5.000000
}

and in the GraphicsVR section
{Terrain
; LoDFactor 0.750000
LoDFactor 1.000000
}
{ObjectsLoD
; LoDFactor 0.750000
LoDFactor 1.000000

WOW

The best fidelity I have had in FS

What is your setup like? in 2D I’m at 2.0 for both but in VR with a Reverb G2, 5950X, 32GB, 3090FE I’m already at

{Terrain
	LoDFactor 2.000000
}
{ObjectsLoD
	LoDFactor 2.000000
}

@MrTonySM did you test VR too?

Thanks for publishing this tweak, @MrTonySM … I’ll certainly try this out !

Hmm let’s count… 6 likes +1 (that is me) , 22 thank yous… +1 (me) see also wish, to have it in the UI
https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/tune-the-ultra-levels-to-perform-for-pcs/412000

The option to set this LOD 9.00 should have a key binding ! When you fly, see something nice… put it on pause and click screenprint. You get LOD x (best) for 10 seconds or so… click… screen shot ready to copy paste

Good day Tensorflow1113, I do have a Reverb G2, but haven’t started tweaking there yet. You can most certainly push your LODs up in 2D with your set-up.

I have a 9900K, 64gb ram, evga 3090 ftw3 ultra

Thank you for reposting my vid good sir

Sorry for late reply, I just got off work late, so will try again tonight

Using the above posted settings you kindly shared, I was getting 15fps over London and very stuttery, and lots of melted buildings

I may have done something wrong, but I shall retry in a few hours!

Kind regards

P.S the driver I’m using is the most recent it was performing well on all ultra,

You can not increase AA. The numbers are specifiying what type of AA you use, AFAIK.

You sure can good sir, notice here AA type has it’s own column

EDIT: just be sure to make the file Read Only if you adjust anything but LODs past factory maximums or the sim will revert it when loading

I do hope you have some better luck. feel free to pm a screenshot of your usercfg.opt if you’re stuck, I’d be happy to help

I think you manually added “Quality” under AA. I don’t see that option in my file.
AA quality doesn’t exist and cannot be increased.

That’s not necessarily true.

You can apply multiple passes of anti-aliasing (i. e. 2x, 4x, 8x, 16x).

Now if the sim is capable of that, I don’t know.

I can confirm I have “quality” in both Graphics and GraphicsVR Section:

In Graphics section:
{AA
Enabled 1
Type 2
Quality 3
}

In GraphicsVR section:
{AA
Enabled 1
Type 2
Quality 0
}

I played a lot with the GraphicsVR Quality settings without any change in resource or quality.

It does, and can :slight_smile: happy tweaking

Oh ok. Interesting. I am using SU5 so maybe that’s why it’s different.

In my UserOpt.cfg settings I changed objects LOD from 0.5 to 2.5, Buildings 1 to 2, then set the file to readonly… I see some difference in Amsterdam center… going 3FpS or so… som windows are more square, compared to my previous picture before the tweak… expected photogrammetry quality around the Royal palace to be 5x better… can’t really say… maybe I’m going to try the 9.0 but euuhm… I wonder if i would I be able to load that…

before

after… I marked some of the differences !

Looks like an issue with the photgrammetry itself my friend. The LOD increase expands how far it loads its maximum detail

Taking buildings to level 3 should really tune this up
