too kind, My back panel is forced on. I pop it for cleaning lol, Gigabyte x390 Aorus Xtreme mobo, best VRMs at the time.
I would think LOD 4.00 though is achievable, try early in the morning and report back
Thanks so much for the very kind comments, Tony <3
My dood, if it weren’t for you, I would never had a chance in the start. Non-biased, and giving me the real info. A true gentleman. YOU SIR ARE A LEGEND!!! <3
3060 also happens to have a low memory bus. In that case it will runs out of memory much quicker if you push settings too much.Lets say the 3060 had twice the cores and memory bus you’d probably squeez maybe 32fps but SU5 is on the way so things can change.
Try 4.00, if no go, then 3.00 you can defo handle. But… try 4.00
EDIT: RAM does play the biggest part, I was blocked at smooth 4.00 on 32GB. LODs will load your CPU most next, then GPU. 30fps lock. If you can get 30fps smooth… good
Because… it’s sideways?
EDIT: PS, My Kraken fans replaced by 140mm ippc 3000PMW, 3000RPM Noctua. They hardly ever ramp up except a boot/reboot.
I’ve put both LOD’s on 5.00 and all settings saved on Ultra now. Made file readonly.
On startup, as a default, it will load these settings and give super scenery quality. When I want to shoot a picture, I set the start of flight position very near… approach with 10 FpS (haha low end GPU) and then put out the camera. When the picture is ready (or several pictures) I switch back to Medium, which will also put the LOD’s back and I proceed flight… enjoying MSFS with the normal frame rate (ca 18-24)
What GPU do you have? My 2060super alone struggles with 2.0 but I am running a 1440p ultrawide. Maybe that’s why. Hopefully SU5 allows headroom to crank it up.
Currently have it at TERR150.OBJ 200.
LOD scalings 2.0 is the same as default Utra. When you choose Ultra and UserCfg.opt is not readonly, it will save the Ultra settings and that includes both LOD’s on 2.000
I’ve got MX330 here, i7 tenth, SSD and 16GB. Really tiny, but I love this laptop.
With a 2600S you should be able to fly with 5.000 settings. What FPS do you expect ? When I put it on 5.000 with my board, I get something really slowwwww, it flickers actually, it is barely flyable. But the scenery looks much better, especially distances…
That is a seriously beautiful pic though!!! My goodness!!!
I know 2.0 is the same as ultra but 5.0= probably 10fps.Have not tested yet.
I tried 3.0 a couple of months ago and the max I got was around 25fps.
Maybe able to get away with 5.0 on 1080p.
You have my sympathy.
That’s a lot of pixels to push but I imagine it looks brilliant
Buuuuuuut… the 27th is almost here, everyone can use the added performance. Tick the clock down
Yes it looks brilliant indeed and a big step up from my old 1080p panel. Luckily I rarely dip below 30fps with a mix of high ultra thanks to the CPU being robust. Some occasions it will dip 30 but my average fps seems to be in the 40s when I am in the air.50s the desert. If I can keep the same performance after SU5 but with less stuttering that’s enough for me.
LOD 5.0 over financial district in NYC in 4K with all sliders to max gives 50fps and 7.2GB RAM and 6.45GB VRAM. Moving the camera quickly causes stuttering though. I tried this with the discovery NYC flight.
32GB 3800OC ram
5950x
3090 FE
Is this with SU5? I haven’t had a chance to test the update yet, still doing updates in the Content Manager.
Yes I did all the optional updates and gave it a good restart.
130 render scaling and LOD 9.0 is giving 33fps with 8.7GB RAM and 9.25GB VRAM.
I’m also using a VPN as my ISP throttled downloads! Whether it has impact on photogrammetry I don’t know.
