Image stutter in cockpit view since SU6

I experience the same issue as well.
AMD 3800x with RTX 3080Ti at UW 1440p resolution.

same here.
amd 5900
6900XT
also viewing in cockpit gives one big stutter. so good frames, but at 1 position in the cockpit 1 big stutter. This makes setting up the plane for flight very difficult.

good fps but panning is awfull - Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020) - The AVSIM Community

Same issues, especially with LOD about 200…FPS is perfect.

MadDog from avsim discovered a weird pause when looking approximately opposite the sun:

I’ve been experiencing this for a few weeks now. FPS is otherwise very good, but a repeatable framerate spike when rotating the view inside or outside the cockpit (seems to be every time the sun is directly behind the camera).

It only happens at ground level and seems to be reduced when far away from towns (tried PG on/off and makes no difference). It can be eliminated by running Terrain LOD at minimum (10) and terrain pre-caching at Low, so it must be related to buildings. My guess is something to do with how the sun casts a shadow with a large amount of objects in cache, but turning shadows completely off does not fix the issue so it may be something else.

Wondering if the new Beta has addressed this. Seems to be a common issue and is definitely caused by an issue with the sim, because otherwise my FPS is very high and fluid. It’s just the frametime spike when rotating the camera at ground level as per SubtotalGuide81 video.

I tried the beta today and found that the issue is still present.

I had this issue since SU6 and I pray that it’s resolved by Asobo. It doesn’t matter how slow I pan left or right I get stutters or sluggish panning at almost every enhanced airport. I’m not talking about poorly optimized airports. I’m referring to any add-on high-quality airport.

I have exactly the same problem. It is way worse in runway 13L in KJFK, no matter the time of flight. I’ve even tried the lowest settings available and the result was the same. Hope Asobo devs can work on that rightaway. Cheers!

Just took the CJ4 from JFK’s 13L to Washington DC. Didn’t see any issues. Using a 12700k and rtx3080 with a G2 no OC.

I have been experiencing this as well most noticeably when taxiing, and during decent and landing. I have over 2300 hrs in the sim and have only started to experience this since the last update.

Nothing extreme in my settings. The link below shows this happening every 20-30 seconds on a 4 min decent into EGPF. It can really mess up a landing..

Stuttering into EGPF

Hi all,

After I changed my graphics card from Nvidia 1070TI to AMD 6800XT, I extensively tested the graphics settings and performance. During this, I too noticed the stuttering when looking around the cockpit, only on the ground, especially in densely populated areas and complex airports. Regardless of most graphics settings High/Ultra and regardless of the aircraft type (Cessna - FBW A32NX).
Especially interesting, as SubtotalGuide81 has already written, depending on the time of day the hangs occur at different positions, seemingly always on the opposite side from the sun. But then always at the same position when turning the view around.

I tested in Lisbon. Ryzen 5800XT, 32GB RAM, 6800XT, SAM On/OFF,
CPU-Load about 30/40% GPU 60-70%, Frames 30/sec, Developer Mode:
GPU limeted
Decreasing the terrain LOD to well below 100 helps somewhat, above 100 it hangs noticeably at the ever same view direction. All other graphics options do not change anything to that problem.
Disabling Photogrammetry helps somewhat with overall smoothness, but doesn’t change the problem either.

I have now found after some searching that the Off Screen Terrain Pre-Caching setting has a significant effect. As soon as I reduce it from Ultra/High to Medium, the stuttering nearly disappears. Im now able to raise the Terrain LOD up to 200 without the stuttering when panning around.

Can anyone confirm this? Looks like the opposite direction from the sun actually matters.
But I’m not sure if it was the same with nvidia and I only noticed it now, or if it’s more noticeable with AMD and what it could be. CPU/Memory Speed?

I have the same issue as well.

I have it as well and for whatever reason it got stronger the last couple of days.

Just to bring it to attention once again…
Does anyone know a solution to the problem and why the stuttering at the airports always happens mainly in the direction opposite the sun?
Is this only an AMD GPU issue or have Nvidia users noticed this as well?
I have tried all possible settings in BIOS, Windows 10 and MSFS, Scenery Precaching on Medium helps best if you don’t want to set Terrain LOD to around 100 or lower.

Greetings to all!

I have stutter when panning cockpit view, but no stutter when Nvidia CP is open. Any ideas why?

Nvidia 3080 with latest driver

When I change the auto pilot, speed data or altitude data or anything else, I see a slow change in the data on the display. Also same for the hud screen in front. The altitude change looks weird with not proper display and just a stuttering value. Any fix?
