Import MSFS 2024 aircraft to MSFS 2020?

Can we have the option to import the extra new default aircraft available in FS24(all versions) to FS20? Atleast until all the bugs and LOD issues are sorted out? That way those on Xbox can appreciate the true beauty of these aircraft in FS20.

That would not be possible, as 2024 aircraft use features and formats that 2020 does not at all understand; a lot has changed with 2024 native planes. New systems, CFGs, XML formats, completely different model formats and folder structure, flight model features, default avionics that don’t exist in 2020, etc.

I’d imagine they’d want to keep planes like the Ini A321 and A330, and the 737MAX as MSFS 2024 exclusive. They’re part of the value proposition for the new sim, I’m afraid. From a technical standpoint, I refuse to believe they wouldn’t work in MSFS 2020. If MSFS 2020 3rd party addons could work in MSFS 2024, it’s a sign the difference in sim code is extremely small. So yea, I do believe the A330 could work in MSFS 2020. Whether Asobo would allow it…now that’s the question.

No. What Matt said. There is nothing else to say than what he said. There is no choice to bring them back to 2020. The format of 2024 native DLC is completely different from 2020, and the planes would not work in 2020. Nobody is going to take the time to create 2020 versions of those planes, as it would require a complete rewrite. Please mark Matt’s reply as the solution.

As I understand it, FS2020 aircraft work in FS24 under a legacy category. Native FS24 aircraft are built completely different. There is no “reverse legacy” mode for them in FS2020, so they would have to be completely rebuilt. And Asobo is a little busy right now (plus TBF there is little incentive for them to do that work). Simply put, FS2020 doesn’t speak the FS24 language.

Its a must, this is a complete useless mess MSFS2024 the amount of lag and weak servers its barely flyable. My internet is strong, with strong I mean it takes 9 minutes to download a file thats 90gb. And MSFS2024 can’t even handle proper streaming and its laggy interface.

Let’s start a petition!

Not sure what the issue is. I’m on a 500 up and down plan and it’s peachy for me at the moment.

500 up what?

500 Mbps upload / 500 Mbps download

But there are a lot of pipes between the servers and each of us

I don’t know if what has happened to me will work the same for others

It took a while but most of the additional aircraft that I purchased through the Microsoft Store that were not already included in the Aviator Edition started working on MSFS. Unfortunately, none of the “Just Flight” aircraft that I purchased have started working several months later. But after the Store began working in MSFS2024 my MS Store version of MSFS 2020 is now showing that it is the Premium Deluxe version.

So, I now have many additional airplanes showing up in the Content Manager. I didn’t want to bog down my system by installing them all. Most of those that are exclusively included in the Aviator Edition now seem to have disappeared, and who knows what will remain once Microsoft realizes what they have done. I think that this was intended to be a one-way street.

I purchased the aviator edition of MSFS 2024 from the Microsoft Store. I previously had the standard version of MSFS 2020 from the Microsoft Store and the deluxe version of MSFS 2020 from Steam. I use the same login on all of them. I have purchased a lot of additional aircraft for both versions of MSFS 2020 that I “own” MS Store and Steam.

I still use MSFS2020 a lot to cut down on my bandwidth usage and to fly my favorite Just Flight airplanes which I use for training purposes being a licensed pilot who lives on an airport. Of course, I also use X-Plane and have many good airplanes for both X-Plane 11 and 12. You might have guessed by now that I am an airplane hoarder.
