do you have xplane of p3d, can you post some comparative pictures. I was thinking of buying xplane just to get the a300 freighter
trying to please everyone will take a million years Im sure. some people dont care about airports, clouds are there thing, other people are more interested in pushing buttons in cockpits and hearing a clicking sound.
I donât think you understand the point. Of course some people donât care about airports. Some people donât care about particular aircraft too in the sim. And some people donât care about the updates to some of the cities that are being updated. So why should all these other things be updated but airports be forgotten about? THEY made the airports, the cities, the clouds, the aircraft, yet they update everything else BUT the airports.
take a look at any airport either payware or freeware, you will find many things that do not correspond in real life.
Right, nor payware or freeware however, was it âhandcraftedâ by MSFS? No.
Were the airports that came with the came âhandcraftedâ by MSFS? Yes. You see the difference here?
you should get xplane, its good, has its faults too but I like both of them. many of the airports are computer ai generated through data, handcrafted only means extra work was done on them. You could learn blender and fix the problems you encounter for us, that would be nice
I really hope that they at least add ground markings to the premium edition airports. Those are really important for flying online.
It shouldnât just be airports within the premium deluxe, it should be in all editions of the simulator. Such details can have such big importance on the gameplay and immersion but with all these issues it does hinder the experienceâŠ
Just watched the newest Dev Q&A. Jorg mentioned that they are looking at the launch airports and might upgrade them, because the bar has been raised since they launched (Minute 43). That sounds promising
I saw that! This is a really good sign. This thread shows that the updates on the base game airports that are handcrafted are necessaryâŠ
I still have so little hope theyâll do it correct.
In my thread 2 months ago we discussed a hill near a runway at Paris CDG airport. I posted this pic:
The runway was level with a strong slope at the red line, which caused the landing lights to be positioned rather strange.
I pointed out the slope should be at the green line.
result: they put a hill between the red and green line. The runway now lies in a pit.
They didnât check a thing on how it looks IRL! Come on⊠Itâs their home airport â â â .
Not to mention they now put buildings on taxiways and aprons.
Wow⊠shows what the airports really mean to themâŠ
As I mentioned before, there is a hill next to T5 (LHR) which is not modeled, as well as various other things around the airport such as the river/stream which is so badly positioned/made. It even flows over onto what is meant to be the perimeter road!!!
The airports and the surrounding area urgently need updating and fixing. And all issues regarding the airport itself need resolving as it is really disappointing that they itâs acceptable for themâŠ
Okay, Iâve started a project which fixes everything about MSFS, generic buildings, roads, vehicles, and terrain. Only thing is, itâll take a bit long. Weâre getting to work on animating things that add high levels of realism to the game. And quick solution, just buy the payware versions of the airport in question. Thatâs the whole point of putting no effort into a default airport: People would look to the payware even if the default was bug-free and everything.
Iâve taken regard of your project but I am not disregarding it and what I am about to say next is nothing towards the project.
That being said, the reason people bought the (premium) deluxe version is so that they donât need to spend hundreds in airports which you already have!?!?!?!? I do not see the point in buying the premium deluxe edition if Iâm just going to rebuy the airports I already have. Please, make that make sense.
We are asking for the minimum. They have said they made the airports for a more âenhanced experienceâ well thatâs a half completed job. So many issues and discrepancies which should not be apparent in the first place.
About your project, how would this work as you currently canât edit the default airports within the sim as they are encryptedâŠ
You can actually. You can change the groind textures, building models, and more in the Packages > Official directory. Hence REX textures and zinertek. I understand you, and Iâm not arguing in an agressive tone. I here take no sides, as what you are asking for and what MSFS has supplied both counteract each other.
Plus, their roadside and telemetry data can be incorrect at times. Tunnels certainly are, and my dev group is working to provide tunnels for you guys in MSFS.
Hills as well arenât exactly arguable as well, though incorrect, even google has imperfections. If you want, import google photogrammetry of the area, or ask someone to, and exclude the airportâs photogrammetry as to not provide unrealistic meshes.
Asobo is quite large, and it is understandable that they are working on many fixes and releases, that the minimum isnt of priority anymore as businesses thrive in sales of payware airports.
I hope this is understandable,
QFA933k (my name wont change fsr)
Ah, I see! Well, Iâll have a look into the meshes made from GoogleâŠ
I understand Asobo have a lot on their hands⊠they have the whole world to deal with! At least they mentioned in the latest Q&A they are thinking of improving them.
Your project sounds very promising! Looking forward to hearing more about it
Hello,
Asobo has silently update LFPG at the same time as Nordics update.
now the buildings that disappeared before have came back and are placed correctly.
ButâŠ
they change the texture (probably to increase performance), now they appear far too late, I donât like it at all.
moreover, they didnât fix the floating objects over and near control towerâŠ
if you are searching a fix for the terrain issue (Hill, bumpsâŠ) you can try the following
I was fed up with waiting Asobo to do something, so I prefer trying to fix it than filling zendesk tickets forever.
I saw your post on flightsim.to! I havenât used it yet but good on you for making it.
Eventually, they will have to address these issues themselves, but we just have to wait and see whenâŠ
Itâs nice of you to fix the airport. But Iâm not supposed to check every airport I want to fly to before I start my flight. Itâs sad to land at an airport only to find out it has some serious issues, sometimes even causing crashes.
These airports especially should have been fixed months ago.
