This was highlighted in the recent Tu-95 thread which expanded to a general Russian/Soviet aircraft for MSFS thread (as they do), but I wanted to call out this development specifically as I think it’s coming sooner than many expected.
The Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-25 Foxbat by Aviasim/Golden Key Simulation!
Hoping that the dev @Al13X7895 can provide more info!

While this is cool, I’d really prefer their other releases to be worked on before releasing new stuff. Their Mig-21 is still buggy, and their weapons pack inexplicably kills performance in their F-111. They blame it on the radar, but there are a bunch of fighters out there which offer the same or better radar functionality without sacrificing performance. I guess I’m just not as excited the third time around given how their releases go.
I disagree. Products will never please someone fully, always need updates and attention. To indefinitely delay putting out new products is not the way to go.

I’m going to fly the hell out of that bird.
In the meanwhile I’ll use the Mig-21 to practise my landings in Hakodate

The Mig 25 is all my all time favourite aircraft so I am super delighted to see this.
August 1977, MiG-25RB flown by MiG OKB Chief Test Pilot Alexander V. Fedotov, set the recognized absolute altitude record for a jet aircraft under its own power. He reached 37,650 metres (123,520 ft
So it’s actually a beast of an aircraft so thank you peeps for doing this one.
PS the Fishbed is still my main flown aircraft. It’s rickety and lovely. Please make it slightly harder to land like before and you literally had to constantly change the throttle or it dropped out of the sky. I must have have attempted 100+ landings before being able to get it down each time consecutively without issue. Each and every landing was so satisfying. The only plane i know how to cold start.
Much love

Looks cool!
Can you outline expected features?

A stainless steel monster at Mach 3? I’m in!
It would be a lot of fun to try to replicate a zoom climb with this monster above 100.000ft.
If you know how to cold start a Mig21 then you can cold start anything. The 21 is a character isn’t it? I wonder how is the 25 in terms of handling and landing.
Fun factoid for those reading this thread: The Mig25 weight is about the same as an Embraer E175.

Wonder if they’ll simulate what happens when going over the Mach 2.8 redline speed.
Also considering that we are allegedly getting the Lockheed U-2 soon from another dev, this is the perfect pairing!

And eventually Blackbird will finish and release the blackbird! So yes we might have the SR71, the U2 and the Mig25 flying around, it’s a great time to be alive!
Curious: What happens when you go over 2.8 in the Mig25?
Allegedly engine overspeeding and overheating, leading to permanent engine damage. Guessing the plane is still flyable considering it’s a flying refrigerator, but would be cool if they simulated this.

I agree 100%
Now we just need better ground imagery for Russia
… and more military airfields too
…Or at least better classification of the airfields in flightsim.to. They introduced a nice “military” flag to filter the scenery map, but 90% of the military airfields are misting that flag

I like to think the Mig 21, 25 and 31 are just large rockets with a large fins at the side, a seat and a human.
I couldn’t agree more with the character. There is something I genuinely love about the old Soviet jets. I read a short interview from an Indian Foxbot pilot that had evolved from the 21 and said there was just a familiarity to the Soviet machine when it came to those different generations of jets.
You are actually very correct. I plan to get my PPL in the next 24 months and in terms of starting a plane. The 21 was a very good teacher to me even though I never knew I was in a lesson
I hope you are excited as I am for this one

I genuinely can’t wait
I’ve checked this thread everyday for like 28-32 days and the last 5 I have been busy. Typical!
So glad though there has been an update so good surprise.
Looks absolutely phenomenal by the way.
