Looks perfect for Nemeth’s capabilities at present, which are unfortunately much less complex than their FSX/P3D days, but enjoyable nonetheless. The Hiller fills in a missing piece alongside the Bell 47 versions we have, plus some of the other lighter piston fare that have come out within the past year or two.
Great!
Gonna buy it as soon as they fix the other two!
So never that is… as it seems…
I am skeptical as well, will wait for some reviews once it is released. Both the 407 in the base sim and S300 are currently among my least favorite helicopters. But I would be very happy if the Hiller turned out great!
Sadly I think they are down to a one-person show now. What have they said when you’ve contacted them about issues/fixes?
The Hiller UH-12B seems to be released on the Marketplace. No news on Nemeth’s website https://www.nemethdesigns.com I only have MSFS2024 installed, so no access to the Marketplace at the moment. But it would take some very positive reviews to make me consider buying it anyway.
This now have a couple of people that has rated it, and its all 5.
Should we get our hopes up?!
Somebody that has bought it and can tell us about it?
I almost bought it myself today, out of curiosity, but since purchase on xcloud doesnt work on xbox anymore I could not.
There is one guy on YouTube named Big Al‘s Playin who has published two videos on the new Hiller, seems like one for 2020 and one for 2024. I am currently on vacation with bad internet access, so now idea what he actually has to say about it.
The UH-12B is now available on Simmarket. I purchased and did a few quick flights around 2020 and 2024. No particular problems, and easy to fly in both sims, with great views. I’m using the 2024 beta, which provides a default 2020 pilot for 2020 aircraft in 2024. If you’re not using the beta, then I assume there won’t be a pilot showing in 2024.
Hard to tell, but if he does not have any assistance on then its very much too stable, and there are a few strange behaviours.
Jury still out I say.
I purchased this on release because I was looking forward to having another classic piston copter in the sim. I’m no expert, but I’ll offer my impressions.
The model is nicely detailed and performance in VR is excellent. The sounds are quiet, but quite good once you adjust the volume accordingly. Flying the UH-12B is intuitive and enjoyable, if perhaps a bit too easy. As others have said, it’s very stable, and it’s fully capable of acrobatic loops and rolls, which seems a bit unrealistic.
My biggest concern is that there seems to be a phantom governor modeled that keeps manifold pressure and RPM in check, regardless of throttle and cyclic application. I don’t think the real UH-12B was equipped with a governor, so this behavior is disappointing.
My only point of comparison here is the Inibuilds Bell 47J, which has a fictional governor that can be disabled. Managing the RPM and MP in that bird is challenging and great fun, so I was hoping for a similar experience with the UH-12B.
Is anyone suffering from a jittery pilot model in 2020 in this one? Noticed the arms and legs are essentially spasming while flying.
Side note: I disabled the governor through a few edits but this may only be possible on the non-marketplace model by editing the apron and runway flt files to load the aircraft with the governor off.
Hi, As soon as I get lift the whole aircraft starts so shake.I’m on XBOX SERIES X
