In Game Livery Downloader
As a livery creator I think an In-Game livery download or search feature would be a great addition to the game, there are lots of good quality community made liveries now, it would be nice to be able to be able to submit liveries directly into these forums and users will be able to download them within the game. I propose that features like searching by the creator, airline and aircraft type are available as a quick way for users to find specific liveries. A rating system can be included along with more detail such as information by the creator and preview shots when the thumbnail is clicked. Asobo would check these liveries are a match of the real life aircraft and ensure that the liveries are installed via the commonly known ā€œDrag and Drop methodā€ where installation is performed by placing the livery folder inside the community folder, meaning when the Download button is clicked the livery will be download to the userā€™s community folder and be instantly available for use.

The main advantages of an In-Game livery download system are;

  • Easier for users to find the liveries they like
  • Easier and faster for players to install liveries
  • Livery creators will be able to have their liveries more recognized
  • Detailed information within the game allowing people to preview the liveries they are downloading

Livery Rewards
The suggestion of livery rewards is that some liveries can be unlocked as rewards after completing certain landing challenges and bush trips, examples are; if I score over 800000 points after completing the Strong Winds landing in Paro I will unlock a DrukAir livery for the A320neo or completing the Balkans Bush Trip will earn me a beach themed livery for the Cessna 172. This livery rewards system will encourage and incentivize players to improve their skills within flight simulation and spend stay within the game, this type of feature has been included in other simulation game such as Gran Turismo 6 where players would be rewarded with special coats of paint and even free cars if the met certain criteria within an event, as a player of that game these rewards would always keep me coming back to the game and improve my set of driving skills.

Iā€™m not too much of a fan for ā€˜unlockableā€™ liveries in a simulator, but I really do like the idea of having the liveries searchable and downloadable from the hangar.

nice, so any update if Asobo agreed to this? This should provide us with a free premium quality since any liveries to be able to put into the store already pass Asobo quality assurance.

Thanks, but no update yet, if Asobo adds this they will probably say it in the weekly development update where they show the most voted items in wish list.

This will be amazing since they realised it on Xbox series consoles Iā€™m surprised itā€™s not already been added. Iā€™d love to see this feature come to MSFS!

I just loved the idea. Liveries are a special must-have feature in Flight Simulator, especially for Xbox users!
