In multiplayer planes showing up not as they are said such as f14 tomcat showing up as a cirrus when I fly up next to it

When I try to fly with my friend online and he is flying a f14 and I’m flying a f18 his aircraft is showing up as a cirrus and he said mine is showing up as a airliner we’ve tried everything and nothing works. Does anyone know how to fix this pls tell me if you do or is this a known bug
