Incredible and detailed research into realistic skyscapes for MSFS

A detailed, well-researched and popular post suggests a relatively easy set of fixes that could be implemented to give more realistic-looking skies in MSFS.

A user going by the name ‘Biology’ has discovered why the skies in MSFS (and in other sims also) produce unnatural sky colours and has solutions on how to correct the issue.

Apparently, he has tried to register on the official forums, but hasn’t received the authentication email to do so. Therefore, I’m trying to kickstart what many people appear to want to see implemented in MSFS2020 and future titles.

Here are some visual examples:

Biology’s corrected vista

And here is the thread:

The methodology for determining the cause of the issue and the corrective methods for obtaining realistic skies goes over my head (pun intended). Yet, this would be a game-changing experience for what apparently is a simple change.

Any chance you could reach out to him and/or pass this along to the appropriate developers, please?

Thanks!

Saw the original Avsim thread - by far one of the best things to come out of that crowd lately. Hopefully someone can connect this person to the MS/Asobo team for potential implementation at least in MSFS2024

Now on a Wishlist topic - vote here:

So, actually the ‘old’ flightsim will be better than the ‘new’ one with these innovations from bright users.
MS/Asobo will never implement this in their XBox MSFS2024 as it’s opensource and not their feature, like weather etc.

This looks really amazing! I was often flying during sunset lately and the sky colors are just ridiculously pink or orange…
