Inibuilds A380

im curious how this will compare to the fbw which is very good in my opinion

I’m very looking forward to it, but my bank balance isn’t! Since January I’ve bought the A340, A350, Tristar and tons of liverypacks. (Alongside stuff from other developers).

Love the A340 and A350 but very disappointed in the Tristar’s performance on Xbox. So I’m hoping many lessons have been learned for the A380, modelling two decks is going to be a performance hog. However, I don’t get the big need for a passenger cabin, they could turn it off in the style of the A350 for all I care.

And this is maybe my fault, to see this video correctly. Am I see ok so the video shows that textures not so sharp?

Yup, same here.
Only framerate wise, i never was able to get a very smooth flight with the FBW one.
Iam curious how the Inibuild one will be performing.

the good framerate is what i like most about the fbw380

whereas ini’s complex models (good as they are) tend to be notorious fps hogs

Extended dev update with some interesting news, pictures, videos and details:

I love it and am looking forward to it, but I can’t shake the feeling that it will be yet another resource hog on Xbox. I wish it was an option to at least remove the cabin and associated systems. I would be even fine with it missing completely from a future Xbox release. I’m curious how optimization will go, because I’m sure the rest will be very high quality.

I’m waiting for the IniBuilds A380 and the Aerosoft A330-900, which is also coming soon. Both the LVFR A330-900 and the FBW A380, in my opinion, have many errors and bugs. I bought the A330-900 and regretted it immediately, but anyway, I removed the FBW A380 and the A330-900 from my list of aircraft. Now I’m going to buy the IniBuilds A380 and wait for the Aerosoft A330-900, which also promises to be a great option for MSFS 2024.

I’m positive the ini A380 will be a spectacular technical achievement, etc etc, because they do quality work with their airliners (eventually… you might need a few patch cycles to get the kinks out). The WASM issues aren’t really their fault. BUT… is it going to be so dramatically better than the FBW A380 that I reach for my wallet instantly? Somehow… I don’t think it will. Because I don’t think it CAN. The FBW - which is, of course, free - does so much, and does it so well, that I’m happy with it for the few times I decide to fly the whale per year. Other than the aerodynamics, which will probably be better just because iniBuilds will throw more people at the problem, I don’t see areas where ini could significantly improve the current product.

For Xbox/PS5 users, of course, it will be the only game in town, assuming it will even run on consoles. Which… I honestly wouldn’t hold my breath on that.

Save your Bank balance and use the free and excellent FBW A380.

I’m keen for this it’s iconic and Xbox needs one that isn’t MScenery
Let’s hope Inibuilds get their career mode team back from long service leave and onto this massive big bird

Not possible, I’m on Xbox. :man_shrugging:

Ahh that sucks. No freeware.

It looks like we’re getting fairly close.

Latest A380 live stream on twitch:

Looks like our worries about performance were unfounded. It runs great on a 9800X3D + 5090 PC.

Can easily imagine something this big and complicated requiring more horsepower, vram, etc. than MA/Asobo’s regular minimum specs. No reason to expect it to be as performant as other aircraft.

But, IniBuilds should publish reasonable (and tested) minimum specs for the plane so people can make informed buying decisions.

seeing that a 9800X3D and a 5090 is pretty much the best PC you can get, if it didn’t run smooth on that, it would be extremely worrying. That doesn’t mean it will run smooth on hardware that most users will have (which is, NOT a 5090).

It was interesting to note how they have found a way around some performance issues. The cabin not loading unless you open the door is a great idea. Let’s hope it is the answer to many a performance issue.
