iniBuilds announces F406 Caravan II

Inibuilds announced their F406, available ‘very soon’. I’m quite excited about it, I’ve grown fond of the default 404 Titan (from which the 406 is derived)

Nice, the Coast Guard variant of this is right up my street. Looks really cool!

I’ll enjoy doing Coast Guard ops with the F406!

I love that thing - I’m in - right after the second patch and five decent repaints are available.

After the Spartan my confidence in Inibuild releases is going to let me skip that one.

Just took a Quick Look at this and wondering if “Authentic mission support for MSFS 2024 Career Modes” suggests that this will be a Marketplace release in order to be fully aligned with Missions in 24?

This was in my email yesterday. I really hope it’s true. I asked over at Ini’s forum and haven’t had a reply.

Not sure what the actual question is lol

I think there is some confusion whether it’ll be available in both 2020 and 2024

Up until now, the only indication I had that this would be available for 2020 was that one image in my email. But it was pointed out that if you go to the promo video’s page on YT, they state there that it will be available on both sims. If this holds true, consider me stoked!
T-prop+cargo+twin=YAY!!!

ah - no it was always going to have a 2020 version I’d think

I did notice that search and rescue missions appeared in career mode before this aircraft was announced

Somewhat looking forward to this - Hope it’s good.

So is this the first career mode capable 3rd party aircraft? I bet Inibuilds has access to Asobo devs and special docs while the other airplane developers have to struggle with bad SDK documentation and bugs.

For clarity - I have never spoken directly to Asobo Devs or coders. Everything the team and I ever did when I was dev’ing as all utilising sdk’s and normal information.

We just figured a lot of it out

Is this one of those cases where the aircraft is unlicenced? Because in reality it’s a Reims-Cessna F406. Minor thing but I like it when the branding is intact as well (logos, etc).

I was trying to figure out what the two silver things under the nose are, and found this. I wonder if they’re the SLAR?

“The aircraft is fitted with a Caledonian Aviation Systems mission management system, which provides a 20-track memory for its radar. Typical Surmar sensors are a Bendix (now Telephonics) RDR-1500 radar, a camera coupled to the radar, a gyro-stabilised FLIR turret and a Thales communications intelligence and electronic (COMINT) system. The Polmar has a side-looking airborne radar (SLAR) to detect oil slicks and an IR/UV line scanner to map a polluted area.”

If we got these toys I’d be all over this one.
