Just got this announcement in the latest email from iniBuilds!
It’s out! Where are your impressions, guys? ![]()
The price is low enough that I’m marginally tempted. I do use the Got Friends Vertigo a lot when I want to do some high-speed sightseeing. This looks to be very much in the same class. Perhaps too similar to the Vertigo, though, given identical instrumentation and similar performance/visibility.
Talk me into buying this, y’all! Or into not buying this!
(And give my recent experience with Ini planes, they’ve all been pretty quirky until there were at least one or two patches. And the T-33 canopy fix took like 3 months. So being cautious about buying this time.)
thanks for the hint on the Vertigo ! think gotfriends do a decent job, the draco x and nordic are very nicely done.
will not buy the INIbuilds impulse for now, i had the pocketrocket from Torquesim on xp11 which probably was a much higher level.
It’s a nice plane but external texture (livery) work could be better, the systems depth and engine (failure) modelling in the plane is a bit more advanced compared to the Vertigo.
Vertigo has a much more powerful engine and is much faster tho.
I think it’s an updated/re-developed Torquesim plane according to the credits in the manual that mentions the original devs. They modelled the Allison 250-C20R engine instead of a PT6 engine while the real impulse 100 pocket rocket uses an Allison 250-B17C (From the most recent info I could find)
Will it be available on Marketplace?
No clue. I try to avoid MP purchases whenever possible. I hate that most of the config files are locked down because I usually end up tweaking a few things to my personal preferences.
This is an absolutely excellent purchase! I love it! The flight model is very stable. The sounds are excellent. I accidently cut the engine first flight, and the emergency landing was by the book. Worth every penny!
Do we have a manual somewhere for this? I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong but my engine is failing in every single trip I fly, always just after takeoff.
Broken on Xbox. No PFD at all, MFD won’t come off the splash screen, and unable to start the aircraft from cold and dark.
Looked nice though.
Bought it from Marcetplace for PC. Completly unusable. No PFD and MFD not booting. Checklist not working and mentioning switches that are just not there. Like the switch to start the engine ….
If started by shortcut engine stops working after a minute.
The audacity to demand money on a marcetplace with no refund policy!
Requested a refund, and because there have been two within the last year (the oldest being 10th October 2024), the refund was instantly refused. I’ve spent hundreds, if not thousands of pounds, in the marketplace, and they won’t issue a refund for a defective aircraft that doesn’t fly. Absolutely ridiculous that if I’d purchased it 3 days later, I’d have got my money back.
I’m on PC so for those on XBOX not sure if this will help but I hope it does.
First thing: This aircraft simulates engine failures and they are persistent so if you break it then it will break again in the next flight, etc.
There is a CB switch to reset the engine failures, it is next to the right pedal. I suggest people to turn on cockpit tooltips for a while to check which breaker is the one that resets failures.
Once failures are reset the aircraft will work unless you break the engine again.
Starting switch is in the mixture lever, covered by a guard, unguard the switch and flip it to start the engine. Make sure you don’t over-torque the engine or it WILL fail and then again, you have to reset the circuit breaker, etc.
I find it unacceptable that there is no manual for this aircraft, it really needs one at least to explain these things that are not very common in default aircraft.
@CanardPilot3157 Thank you. Will test this to start from Cold&Dark. Tooltips were on the whole time but not very helpful. I did indeed find the circuit breaker you mentioned because when PFD and MFD are not working I searched through all the breakers do see if switching them off and on would change anything. So I did see two circuit breaker that were not switched on and could not be switched on permanently. But from the tooltip I did not come to the conclusion that pressing them would reset anything. Besides the problems occur right after I first hopped into the plane right after I bought it.
How did one see if you overtorque? Both displays are not functional at all. The PFD is completly dark and the MFD hang in the booting screen. So no instruments.
Regards B.Quentin
Who did you request a refund? Via a Zen Desk Ticket? As bad as that answer is for you at least for me it could be an option.
there was just an update for the vertigo from gotfriends
free aircraft is better than the ini payware ?
well ini is not top notch but they for sure dont deliver broken aircraft usually
The Vertigo has been better than this plane eve before it was updated. I found the engine starter switch as described by @CanardPilot3157 under the cove on top of the condition lever. This way the engine could be started. No luck with the displays what so ever. I was abel to taxi to and take off from the runway but after a minute the engine dies again. I was only half throttel all the time but it is hard to say if I over somethinged something with out any instrumentation.
I will attach screenshots of the Cockpit view. I don´ t know about ini builds much but after this plane I think I will avoid products from them in the future. Tried to get in contact but there support form only gives me errors and so far nobody replied to me asking in their forum. It has no section for this plane (yet?) anyway.
open a ticket with inibuilds if you really have issues.
What do you mean by “Ticket”?
Under your link there is no option to open a Ticket!
I tried to user their contact form to get help but it only gives me back an error that it is not operational. I repeated it 5 times over two days now.
Then I have written in their forum system two days ago but got no answer so far.
So how do you open a Ticket with inibuilds?
Hi to all! I’m one of the developers of the Impulse 100.
The issue with the marketplace purchases is that there are some “incompatibilities” with some files, and not an issue with the aircraft. Normally Microsoft checks should have found them beforehand, but seems that this time have failed.
We are working with iniBuilds and already have pushed to Microsoft and update that fixes that issue. Hopefully will be available very soon, so you can enjoy this aircraft!
Thanks for the update, good to know it’s being looked at. ![]()
