iniBuilds Spartan 7W Executive - next Premier Aircraft

Ever seen the A-team? Plenty of tricks they used on BA Baraccus

I want to like that Spartan and add it to my fleet, but the complaints about all its faults are holding me back. Would be nice to use it in FlightSimEconomy

LOL I adjust the weights so I dont fly with passengers. Probably why I laughed when I read that fix. I had not seen the shiny passengers in the back seat lol

They just put out an update to the plane that should have fixed the issues from its initial release. I will check out the update when I get some time tonight.

still no fix for the red and polished aluminums right wing missing the red paint. other than that it seemed better

where’s the whiskey compass
classic version has none?
I just bought it today when I saw it was updated so I could just be looking in the wrong place - like the panel, the top of the windscreen, and all the ‘usual’ places.
Is it under the seat? behind a rudder pedal?

Might have to send a message to Inibuilds asking about it. I have seen images of several of the real Spartans, some have it hung between the two front windows, some in the panel center above the throttle quadrant, and one that appeared to not have one. They modeled their plane after a real one, maybe it was one without it?

Anywhoo
It preforms MUCH better! still slow to loose speed when its clean, but the moment you get it down to speed to drop the gear or lower any of the flaps it looses speed rapidly.
They fixed the rocket ship like behavior when you pullback on the yoke. And even though it still feesl very heavy in a turn, it is believable from interviews I have read that stated that the thing was heavy on the controls.

I think this is one I will be flying very regularly now.

Any repaints for this aircraft ?, I haven’t seen any on .to, and it has been out a little while now.

I tend to doubt there will be many repaints. There are only a handful of real ones left, and I believe most of them are already included, if not all of them.

It’s a bit niche, this one. You’ll probably have to make a livery request if you want one.

anyone know of a UC-71 repaint?
A number of 16 or so of the Spartan 7W’s were used as US military liaison aircraft.

Here are a couple of examples of 7W

Is it totally horrible of me that I love all the vintage petroleum company liveries on various vintage aircraft?

Chevron’s 247D, Texaco’s Goose, Texaco’s Spartan, for example.

I love the flying them over the oil fields here in California pretending I’m wearing jodhpurs and engineer’s high lace boots.

I bet if you request it on FS.to, someone will make that military variant.

Is it worse than loving Ayrton Senna’s Marlboro-liveried McLaren, or his Camel-liveried Lotus?

I’d argue there are worse offenses

Considering some of the practices of those companies, I prefer to pretend I’ve “borrowed” the plane for whatever worthy cause that might upset them.

But yes, those were really beautiful liveries for really beautiful planes.

This is only an issue in FS24, FYI. The wing is textured correctly in FS20.

I dont think they modeled one. it has a radio compass but that’s it.

It still flies 10 degrees nose down in level flight. While if feels much better, there’s still work to be done.

Real-life videos I have seen of the Spartan in level flight show a distinct nose-down tendency, though not ten degrees. The HCG Spartan flies at a similar attitude. It’s similar to the Corsair in that regard.
