iniBuilds T-33 Jet Trainer

Would love to buy this, however the iniManager is not working for me.
Just a spinning circle at the checkout .
Any one else having a similar problem ?
Can it be purchased elsewhere ?

Had the same issue. Logged into their website and bought it there. Did show up in the ini manager right away and installed without a problem.

I so wanted this, one of my favorite classic jets, with enormous possibilities to create repaints for.
Instead I get something that crashes my sim when I start the flight, which has mirrored wing and tail textures, and a ridiculous texture layout for the rest, making repaints (at least the way I do them) almost impossible, so hugely disappointed here. Uninstalling it as I type this

Thanks for the heads up, just did that, and all good.
Thank you

I read somewhere, that the stallspeeds get patched.

As for the Cockpit - it is pretty accurate, except the smoke clickspots. They seemed to have based it on a T33A Model, like the one to be found in the Air Force Museum Dayton/Ohio. See some pictures here:

Cheers

Reporting back as promised and can confirm that fuel quantity has a major impact on handling. At 50% fuel, it’s a different animal. Still requires care - the airplane is temperamental and demands constant attention - as with any high-performance military aircraft, there’s no such thing as hands-off flight. But stall recovery is much easier and landing configuration is manageable provided you keep up the currently exaggerated speeds.

Have just been reviewing the 1951 revision of the POH (the one published by Periscope Films) and there are plenty of warnings about restrictions to be observed when carrying a lot of fuel. Not quite apples to apples - many of the instructions are for early model T-33As with drop tanks. But the same general principles apply.

There are also warnings about not practicing aerobatics below 10,000 feet because of the extreme altitude loss during recover. Will have to take that to heart. Elevator trim is to be used sparingly - which mine wasn’t, exactly.

So the airplane has some very specific requirements - there’s a learning curve. That said, it’ll be interesting to see if the stall speed patch brings any flight model modifications. Not sure they’re needed, just curious.

At this point I’d say that this is one of those airplanes I respect but don’t yet enjoy. I’ve felt that way about others at first - the IFE/Heatblur F-14 comes to mind - that are now my regulars. So, reserving judgment and will trust the process, as they say.

More notes to follow.

The P-80 and T-33 are important aircraft history-wise. I am glad the T-33 is here for MSFS, it fills a void of its era.

The inibuilds rendition looks great! Great detail, texturing, some systems depth. Very happy that there is the steamgauge cockpit. I like the raincover, and stuff too. Sounds are good, too. And it’s reasonably priced.

But the flightmodel
 not so good.

It flies nicely, and will appeal to many pilots. But for the hardcore / realism fans, it fails to hit the numbers.

  • Fuel flow and range (much) too high
  • Engine spool much too fast
  • Engine overpowered, yet fails to reach its maximum speed across altitudes
  • Stall speeds too high
  • Very sensitive in pitch, pitch trim very coarse
  • Rate of descend in glide too high
  • Rate of climb too high
  • Aircraft does not spin, real T-33 will spin

I am doing a FM mod as I type this. Stay tuned

So you’re probably going to wait for a very long time, if not forever. I pretty doubt someone else will model this aircraft anytime soon and besides, Ini nailed it here imho.

Given this is the sister ship to the plane that Richard Bong lost his life flying, and he was a fair bit of pilot (sarcasm on high), my bet is you’re right, it was a lot to handle.

Bong’s P-80 crash was because of a fuel pump malfunction.

I had the same issue
so I just logged into the website instead and did it from there
no problem!
Plane appeared in my Inimanager folder ok.
Anyone know if there is a manual for this?

My Inibuilds T-33 Flightmodel and Engine Realism mod is here:

And he chose to bail out rather than fly the plane in

I tend to agree with your findings.

Any ideas as to why I am not seeing any crew in the cockpit?

Thanks. Pilots showing is On and Off for me.

Sorry, I don’t understand ‘on and off’'?

What / how are you doing to switch them on / off?

Tablet, FS?

Sorry I mean they show and then they don’t show. Weird.

Thanks - I am sure it will be fixed in a patch.

For what it’s worth, I’m always seeing pilots in the cockpit (we’re talking about external view, right?) For me the aircraft loads not quite cold and dark - crew is in place, there are no chocks or covers, and the instrument light rheostat is all the way up, so the instruments glow red as soon as I turn the battery on (which I have to do immediately to open the canopy).

Am I missing a setting that changes the default setup?

Yes, external view. Only flown once from cold. Will try again tomorrow from runway and engines runway. Thanks.
