Installing and running MSFS on second computer

I using Windows 11 and MSFS PC version purchased from Play Store on my main Desktop. I installed MSFS on second PC(laptop) using my same Microsoft account from the PC xbox app with no problems, but I’m getting a license error when I try to run it on the laptop. Do I need to repurchase MSFS for the laptop? I’m not trying to use both machines at the same time. The error I get is “CPiP license device ID does not match the device ID in the bound device license”

This previous post on the topic may help.

I believe that was a different scenario. My issue is using the same microsoft account and installing msfs on a second computer. I had seen old posts suggesting this was possible, allowing you to run msfs on two machines asynchronously. If this is true, how? Simply installing MSFS onto the second computer from the Xbox App results in the license error.

If MSFS can be run asynchronously on multiple machines (& I don’t know if it can), then each PC / device would presumably have to be listed as a registered device in the “Devices” section of your Xbox account. Have a look, and if your 2nd PC is not listed as a registered device, try adding it by selecting “Add a device.” I have no idea if this will work - just something you might try.

Yes, it is, but a way to resolve the issue is the same.

Well its working now and just like MickSlick4, I’m not sure what did it. I deleted the new device from my microsoft account and ran the WSreset.exe. Once the device was deleted, I added an app via the Play Store(just any app). That was supposed to add the device back into my account. It appeared not to have been added, but apparently it takes a while for it to show up as a device. I did run WSreset after the app install, so maybe that did it, or maybe it just takes a while for the servers to catch up.
