I just started having this problem in all aircraft Asobo and PMDG, FBW…
The cursor flickers in the cockpit likes it trying to continually hide itself. I tried switching from Legacy mode to locked mode in the accessibility section in “legacy” mode I can manipulate switches but only in one direction i.e. If the toggle has an up and down or left and right function it only works in the left/down direction. Knobs work alright, but only in Legacy mode. If I am in “locked” mode the items glow blue, but do not actuate; armrests, switches, buttons etc.
What is going on? This particular bug makes the entire sim unusable in any aircraft.
Same issue. Flickering mouse, white dot in the middle of the screen when camera is panned off-center, white borders inside instrument displays, all started after the last sim update. Ran driver updates for my RTX2070s this morning and the issues persist. I see this is a major issue for many… been a while since asobo broke something major with an update.
I feel like this thread should be visible in General Discussion forum also so it’s easier to find. Enough people must be having this problem, it would be helpful rather than hiding it in the Bugs section of the forum where many don’t check or even think to look.
I agree with this. A lot of these bugs and up taking a while because they aren’t widespread enough or people don’t complain. But apparently this one had an effect.
I’ve tried to leave a link to this report in all threads I’ve found that are related. I guess if you can link to this where you see it appropriate would be beneficial. If I compare the amount of threads touching the issue and this bug report there’s a significant distance in user attention.
I’ve been in contact with a couple of mods (don’t want to disclose in case it doesn’t work) trying to escalate this because it’s a big issue.
I do agree that it’s been awhile since Asobo didn’t mess things up in this scale, and I believe it needs a hotfix rather than a wait until next update because flying is basically impossible. Yesterday I finally desisted from flying the ATR because loading a flight plan is harder than looking for the golden fleece.
Do you have the same issue if you follow the OP’s steps to reproduce it?
Yes
Provide extra information to complete the original description of the issue:
As OP says it applies to all aircraft and renders mouse interaction with the cockpit near impossible. You can click 30-50 times on a button and you have to hope it registers a click instead of jumping back to the white dot
If relevant, provide additional screenshots/video:
Thank you mods for showing me the correct report to post… appreciate your help!!

Yes, “click spots” with mouse in Fenix, PMDG and Native Asobo AC are all having this issue on my PC.

Bear with me, but I tried to do a youtube video of part of the issue… in PMDG 737… notice at beginning of video, when I type my name in the flight display, it works relatively well.
If I zoom a bit out or in, all the click spots are messed up and I can barely push the right button.
and
in this video, you can see once I zoom out, I can’t register a click on CLR button – nothing works until I zoom back out, then it will work.
Same here. The last time I had a problem like this it was due to a key on my keyboard being stuck in the down position - it continuously sent a command to the sim which interfered with my ability to use the mouse. The bug seems to be doing the same thing. Its very frustrating…its affecting every aircraft i fly, both payware and default. If only there was a way to go back to the previous version of MSFS…i would uninstall the latest update and be good to go. Help asobo!!!
■■■. At first it was just mouse clicks that didn’t work, but now the same behavior is showing up on my peripherals. Tried to lower flaps and I had to press the flaps button (on my throttle, not keyboard or screen) about 30 times before it registered. Hat button on joystick now intermittently does not change views. Whenever that evil white dot shows up I know I no longer have reliable control over my aircraft. Hey, Asobo - STOP WITH THE UPDATES! They might fix some things but invariably create new problems. [And I am annoyed having to switch from windowed to full screen after every single update.]
Perhaps they need that white dot for whatever reason. Them trying to get rid of the white dot might be the cause of the mouse problem. Perhaps they could just keep the white dot, only make it just one pixel in size so no one notices it (if indeed that’s the problem causing the mouse intermittent problem). The only work around at this point for me was to go to accessibility and switch back to legacy mode. I’m still getting the cursor flashing like crazy, but at least (for now anyway) I’m not having to do multiple clicks and rolls.
I found the SOLVE for my mouse clicking / click spots being off/weird. Thank you @TheSevenflyer for solving this for me. It’s been driving me mad for the last few days and could not figure it out.
I had LENS CORRECTION set to ON in the general settings. Somehow, my settings got reverted and I just assumed this was OFF as I know it can cause problems with clickspots not working.
SOLVED! Hope this helps anyone else having the issue.
Update - Issue is still there for me. I did get it t to go away briefly but I have 0 idea how I did it (I think I wiggled the USB for my joystick) but after about 30 seconds it came back.
I’d say they have to be aware of the issue at this point. It’s just a matter of waiting on a fix. Hopefully it won’t be until the next sim update in August.
Do you have the same issue if you follow the OP’s steps to reproduce it?
No. Everything was working fine prior to the update

What I have also noticed is are white boarders appear around the PFDs. Also what is no longer working is being able to enlarge any of the eligible panels (e.g. PFD) and the FMC. When I hit ALT and place the mouse on what I am targeting nothing works. It does not bring up the separate window. Not sure if this is related.

Try to put for every axis (including throttle axis) on your controller a deadzone of 2 and for the rudder pedal as well. The mouse flickering has gone for me and I am able to click on all knobs and wheels again.
