Invisible wall when rotating cabin cameras

Does this happen to anyone else? I tried searching but couldn’t come across it.

When you have the cockpit camera back in the cabin (any plane or addon) in freelook mode, if you spin around more than 180 degree, sometimes there is an invisible wall that stops the camera at the 180 degree mark.

For example, if you have the camera back in a passenger seat, then you spin the freelook camera to look towards the back of the plane past 180 degrees, then try to swing the camera back again, there is an 80% chance of hitting an invisible wall so you can no longer rotate the camera back again. So in essence you’re camera is forced to only be able to rotate 1 way (thus defeating the ‘free’ in freelook).

Anyone else experience this?

Hi,
For questions like “Does this happen to anybody else?” it would be preferred if they would be asked in the Community Support category. I moved your post there.

I haven’t tried this and don’t know if I would have the same issue if I did try. But recently, a bug surfaced where the drone camera can no longer enter buildings:

I don’t know if it’s now running into a material that was previously penetrable to the camera but now no longer is.

Thanks for placing in correct area. I have also experienced the bug of not going into buildings. However the bug I’m describing has been around since day 1. I very often move my cockpit camera back into the cabin (to simulate passengers hanging out and walking around) and the camera always ends up hitting this invisible wall when rotating.

I’m not talking about the other invisible wall separating the cockpit from the cabin, this one stops you from looking around. I’ll try to post a video. It happens in every plane.

Same here sometimes, unable to turn more than 180 degrees.

Interesting. I assumed that this might have been a one-off on some plane for you. If it’s every plane, then it does not happen to me. Not sure what might be different.

shew! glad it’s not just me.

@N316TS

do you normally transpose your cockpit cam back into the cabin? If so, try to then rotate the camera around back and forth when you’re way back in there

Yeah, I have a hat switch that rotates the view around (it is not mapped to the quick view). Last I checked, it went around 360°. I haven’t checked in this version and I’ll try to do that in the next day or two.

same, I use my hat switch to look as well, but I also just click the middle-mouse button to enable free-look then use the mouse to around freely, like I’m a passenger taking in the views. that’s where the issue really comes into play as you can no long just look around but your neck hits the wall :open_mouth:

I’ve noticed this when setting custom cameras outside the aircraft. Sometimes it won’t pan one way (which is usually the way I want to go) other times it works.

yep, also happens when outside. anything back of the cockpit
