I bought the addon via MSFS Marketplace many months ago. Since april 2021, I am using the Jabiru J160/170 in Flightsimulator 2020 and because of that I have been aware of some issues (flaps for example) and I checked if there are any updates. To my surprise I realized that the most current version in MSFS is V.1.3, meanwhile Iris Simulations offers V.1.4.5 on their website.
So on april 26th 2021 I contacted Iris Simulations via email and Microsoft via MSFS zendesk.
Iris Simulations never responded to my support question.
Microsoft zendesk answered “Due to the certification process, you might see a delay between the moment third parties update the content they sell and distribute on their own platforms and the moment the update is pushed in the Marketplace. But be assured that the update will become available via the Marketplace soon.”
Unfortunately I am sandwitched between two providers. My advice. Better buy your addons directly from the provider.
Your advice is good. Like I wrote days ago, the Jabiru is the last addon I bought from Marketplace.
I just bought the AN2 Islander today, directly from BBS, also the CRJ directly from Aerosoft. That’s the way to go. To many problems with Marketplace.
If you scroll back a little you will find some informations about what’s happening here. For the moment all we can do is wait.
I answered to Microsoft the following: “I can understand and appreciate that there is a process prior to making available updates of third party providers. But November 2020 to late April 2021 are 5 months. I would appreciate to know if Microsoft grants permission to obtain updates directly from third party providers, even when purchased via Marketplace.”
Well, the next answer of them was not very helpful either: “Microsoft will not release content that may contravene its terms of use or that may be harmful to players’ systems. This is why the marketplace will never feature content that hasn’t been certified.”
So, in other words, only god knows how and when Microsoft certifies any updates from thirdparty providers. Hopefully some day.
My limited understanding is Microsoft were provided with an updated version but suddenly features that were previously fine (and still exist on the marketplace in the current version still for sale - go figure) such as the icons to indicate which liveries use steam gauges among other things, were suddenly no longer acceptable and Microsoft rejected the update even though those exact same features have been fine previously.
What has compounded the issue is the developer has real life family related issues that have prevented him getting back to work to make the changes that MS are now insisting on.
I fully understand the situation - but I cant believe that there is not even time inbetween to release an needed update to the paying customers - thats not how business works!
And complete silence from the developers for weeks now. No way to get a payback - so wasted money for the moment (wich is lasting for a long time…). Thanks for nothing -.-
I just bought the Jabiru thru steam and it is really a great plane but copilot only comes on in the cockpit view and disappears immediately when I go to another view and come back. It is missing for the rest of the flight no matter what I do. Is there a workaround?
That routinely happens on random updates in content manager for me. When it happens, delete the offending files (manually from File Explorer if necessary) and reinstall the package.
I bought the plane during the mid-summer sale at OrbX. It’s a lovely model that flies very nicely but it doesn’t come without bugs. Most of them are about interaction with the cockpit. However, I had a severe throttle issue twice today (two different flights). At some point, the throttle started to slowly go down to zero no matter what. I could use the mouse wheel to “scroll” it back up but it kept going down. Same for the yoke. I stopped the engines and avionices mid-flight to no avail. Going into the menu doesn’t fix it either. I already reported it to IRIS’ support e-mail address but I am curious to know if someone else ran into this issue as well?
Yes, never had this with any other plane. It can’t be a stuck key as I disconnected yoke, mouse and keyboard (I kept using a joystick to not ground the plane). It is definitely a bug with the J170.
Possibly but the bug seems specific to your system or we would have heard more about it ? What happens if you unplug absolutely everything including keyboard mouse and all joysticks and all yokes ?
In other news the jabiru bundle seems to be on special over at Orbx for about 30% off at present.
Well, what should happen? I won’t be able to provide any input, hence the bug(s) won’t occur. I already filed bug reports with IRIS’, no need to guess here.
Hello, I bought the Jabiru J160 / 170 from the MSFS2020 Market, but the copilot is not visible and cannot be selected from the Ipad, by pointing the mouse on the option the word “INOP” appears . How can I do to have the co-pilot visible? Thank you for your time.
