I’ve had quite alot of stutters in SU6 on native 3840x1600 res @ ultra preset
specs : i7 10700k, 32GB ram, 3070ti
Now i don’t get a single stutter, i even tried some crazy stunting around with the F18.
DX12 obviously is a beta test for stability not performance so i won’t talk about that.
But please share me your experiences with DX11 now in SU7.
Did you also see improvements like I did?
It seems to be smoother than before during the few short flights I’ve taken since the update this morning. Haven’t tried DX12 yet so can’t/won’t comment on that.
no idea if DX11 related or not..but fortunately I am having no issues.. well..before this update and after. Could be a lot of things why yours is running smoother and could well be related to DX11… or not.
A number of updates were made in this update and anyone of them could have contributed to you good smooth experience… So kinda hard to pin it dowm to improved DX11… right ?
DX11 seems about as smooth as SU6 for me. DX12 is a mess, granted it is beta. FPS was about the same but alot more stutters and not very smooth. Flying around NYC clear skies was around 50-65 fps DX11 on ultra, DX12 was averaging around 55 but many dips to 30-45.
very interresting thing for me: when i change it to DX 12 and turn off my V-Sync - everything is fine with 40 FPS … if i turn v-sync on: stutter festival … in dx 11 everything is fine! also what i mentiin is, that my GPU ussage (RTX 3090) in DX 12 is only about at 5% !!! wtf?!
I didn’t even venture into dx12 last night when I had a quick look..anticipated it wouldn’t be plain sailing and didn’t want to spend another 2 hours tweaking settings after a 6 hour download . Being in beta I’m sure it will get better over the coming updates and maybe even after a hotfix
WIth DX12 I have better FPS flying high over clouds (something like +4 to my usual), and a slideshow close to the RW with low clouds, however, if I lower the resolution from 100% (I use 2K settings for 4K monitor with GTX970 and I usually have over big cities like New York in C172 glass cockpit something about 24 FPS) to 85% it goes flyable. Also, it looks like new flights load faster with DX12, but I am not sure about this.
Agreed, I’m seeing slightly better performance in both 2D and VR, and best of all the night lighting is massively improved. I haven’t tried DX12 yet - not sure I want to touch it until it’s been through several iterations.
same for me, had before 42fps now down to 23 -.-
What the hell, my RTX3090 utilization is down to 60%, why is the game not using it ?? before it was great and stable, no settings changed yet. will test now DX12 but less hopes on that one
Edit: changing the game to DX12 killed it completly for me now.
I just get the message on start that i have missing packages and thats it i can just click on quit, nice …
I have a pretty low end PC with a 1060 but i used to be able to use the sim just fine, i was actually quite surprised by the good performance. Now it’s a Power Point presentation
Yea I figured I’d give it a go for science lol. I’m not terribly worried about DX12 and DX11 works just fine for me. Long as the core sim works for me I’m happy.
The DX11 version of SU7 is the smoothest I’ve seen in VR. I am really quite surprised. 5800X, Gigabyte RTX 3090 Gaming OC, Reverb G2. DX12 is another story. Framerates were low, stuttery, but it’s early days.
