PMDG Dc6 says hi…They already did. And go take a look at the Fenix Airbus… The Fenix Simulations Airbus A320 That’s just the start of greater things to come.
I think it’s all about the mindset you have when you use the game. If you us it to sharpen your skills - improve your flying, then you are simulating the process you would follow during a flight and it is a simulator. Of course how good a simulator it is, is another question.
If you are just enjoying the sim with no regard for proper flight practices, then it is a game.
Either way, ENJOY!
Well PMDG was really quick with their updates. I’m not too scared about that. But yes, there’s overlap they can’t avoid… like the current weather bug in the sim. Even PMDGs 737 wouldn’t be able to escape that.
Of course they will have study level aircraft.
Oh hey, read this for a second:
"Moving on to what this A320 is… Well, we believe this to be the most comprehensive and complete A320 simulator available to desktop consumers. Not just for MSFS, but across any platform. We have all the usual suspects you’d find in a full-fidelity simulation; 100% custom ground-up code, a bespoke (and complete) autoflight suite, ARINC424 rendering, full “physical simulation” of fluids and pneumatics (the air-mass simulation is a lot of fun, can’t wait for the update post specifically covering the pneumatic systems!), and a completely custom navigation environment that ensures reliable operation for the autoflight system (more on this later).
Our MCDU also has everything you know and love from A320 representations in the past, but with so much more; lateral offsets, ETPs, RTAs, and step climbs – features as yet unavailable in even the most complex X-Plane or ESP-based Airbus add-ons to date."
Get your settings right and it’s out of this World. . .
You’ve got to get into it to get out of it. . .
So, we have Phil Collins - and NOT Peter Gabriel.
Just checking we’re all okay with that?
Why so much fuss?
Hey, in no other software do planes fly as easily and uncomplicated as in FS2020.
With the competition they constantly cause problems. They don’t goes on, they complain, fall down in the stall, fall apart, burns… …
Flying has never been so safe! xD
You forgot about low visibility scenarios being completely missing except for when it’s raining. I don’t remember any mainstream flight sim not having it right from day 1. I would argue that the focus has been on visuals more then anything else, although I see devs are struggling a lot to get even that right. Many major things that would make it a sim are in some long term pipeline, even after one year we don’t have much in terms of quality airliners or realistic weather. At the end of the day, it’s upto the user to decide what he/she wants, I generally keep hopping back to XP11 when I want to fly an airliner and come to MSFS for vfr flying and/or community events.
That is perfectly done sarcasm. Very good! And, very true.
My panels don’t come alive until I’m flying for several minutes. No pre-flight checklist, no fuel monitoring, no run up, no IAS, nothing.
It’s not a simulator. It’s a game. A bug infested one at that.
And ask them how far the latest little gem of an update has done for their delivery times. I bet they are not happy at all.
What’s an offense is that MS/Asobo keep breaking things that, regardless of the level of graphics being produced, keep you from even starting the program, which makes it impossible to enjoy the program. The other companies you cite don’t break things when they put out updates; their stuff works the same time after time…not just some of the time.
(sure, but look and visual are not all. If i want to visit my house or the world, i prefer google earth)
Everybody here is agree that visual is amazing (even if it (subjectively) don’t seems to increase in time).
Xplane work more on visual now because they have a solid engine. What people complains (or tallk about a game before a sim) about MSFS is becasue they (…MS ask them to) focus first on visual and after on sim aspect (or have the feeling this is what happening). And because they spend ressource and time releasing new contents when existing ones are not finish / stable.
Perhaps this product has been release too early. It is the Cyberpunk of the simulators. so beautiful but so unstable and buggy (but after 1 year, Cyberpunk was ok).
3rd party (like A2A or milviz,i only fly GA) will make the study level aircraft people are waiting for. But when you see the time they spend to make their product compatible after each patch, it is breaking innovation because they lose so many time they could spend on creating better things.
Cyberpunk of simulators? Definitely not. MSFS runs great, got great reviews and has a big player base. The only hate i notice is coming from this forum. There will always be people disappointed in things. The majority of users that enjoy the simulator just don’t visit this forum. I mean why should they, it’s just toxic.
Also I don’t think that it was released to early. As I mentioned above, other simulators weren’t well received by hard core fans in the beginning either. They have to start somewhere. Visuals are amazing and in my opinion the simulator aspects are enough to call it a real simulator, if you want MSFS to use like a simulator. It is possible and that’s the important thing.
In my opinion, i accept fs2020 as it is… a 50usd flight sim… and not a 12mil airbus sim for pilots… for that value… and what it has to offer… fun and exciting… maybe there should be a hardcore version for the more veterans simmers… but right now… at least getting the thing to function as a game or simulator is a challenge vs bugs within these few days…
It’s obvious from the ATC engine it’s based on FSX, they’ve just made it worse rather than improving it.
Yes, you are right, aircrafts fly, so it is a simulator.
It does seem that way doesn it
Since day one of the A**** (should not be mentioned process) it we saw that the dev had a shift intent toward making this sim maybe too gaming and console. Beside all the reports on how to fix and or request to have fully separeted version on PC and console.
And fully agree with the author, at least we had nice looking scenery to wait until eventually it was turned into a sim, but now even the graphics are gone, quite a joke.
I runs on a $300 console… so take a guess.
