I did not want to offend but the work done for this sim has been going on for 12 months, and we are always with a sim that does not work …
Communication surely could be better. But its a lot better than the one provided by other developers or even the Addon creators (cough cough Aerosoft). I get that some people want to play a fully ready simulator, put on a pilot uniform and buy the 120$ addon planes. But we are not there yet. It is going to happen eventually.
I repeat I did not want to offend anyone but it is my point of view, since the game was not given away but paid € 120
From this point of view yes, we have paid 120€ for an early access, but considering a 10 years support, for the moment, i don’t regret my purchase. Perhaps i will in 9 years.
It is definitely a simulator game. Basically has attributes from FSX, but the majority of it, terrain, Aircraft, atmosphere, weather and aerodynamics etc. are new.
I also think that the 120 Euros were worth spending. I really have my fun with MSFS and im looking foward to the next few years
You are definitely not offending anyone, and everyone has a right to feel angry and disappointed. I think the complexity of MSFS is off the charts and it will take a bit of time to tame this monster. Without a doubt though, they will get to a place where it will be sensational on all levels.
I really hope they put things together, love the flight simulator … i have xp then p3d
Depends on what you were looking at things on; what level of detail; what type of video card, what type of monitor, speed of monitor, etc. There are plenty of threads I’ve looked at that have before and after pictures of the same point and the after are way degraded from the before. Some people are ok with the quality of the after, some are deeply disappointed because of the significant step backward. And then you get into the fact that the thing won’t run worth a hoot any more, what with the CTD’s and such that are random all over the board.
I agree. But a lot of people on this forum should think about the way how they share their disappointment. In the last few days i saw a lot of really toxic posts with unnecessary hate. Those people forget that real humans are working on such games/simulators.
I have multi screens all yoursch screm, hopefully I buy aerownix psx so I will not have more problems with the planes …

People judge others more harshly when they are angry. When you rush to judgment because you feel angry and cheated it’s easy to post ridiculous and cruel comments. When things get better, emotions get better… basically a Jekyll and Hyde situation… although some display pure ignorance. This is the worst I have seen it in the forums. The bottom line is if they didn’t care passionately for MSFS they wouldn’t even react.
Deya-Vu MS FLIGHT – just on a bigger scale, and potentially a bigger fail.
Still not too late, if things get turned around.
A success as far as Profit is concerned, but a failure as far as PR is concerned.
P3D, Msfs2020, Xplane are all video games by definition, of the amateur-flight simulation subgenre. If a mod sees this: thread should be closed, will bring nothing good.
I don’t think so… completely different situation here.
What are you even talking about? MS Flight was nothing like the simulator we now got. MSFS is one of the best reviewed video games of all time and the PR is great.
That’s the hard question nobody with access seems to want to ask the people in charge.
For now I would say they aim for both, but keep it VFR.
Personally I think they got lost in the graphics. This ooh and aah about simulating the world with cities popping up etc… The rest of the sim was copied from FSX and subsequently broke, piece after piece. GPS, flight planning, ATC… nothing improved with SU5 - good day. Yes we got Bing maps on the world map (graphics again, and buggy too), but nothing improved in the process of planning a flight. It all got even worse.
Maybe now that XBox is ‘out of the way’ there will be some more attention to all the other stuff?
That’s what every other sim has tried to do for the last 20 years, and now that a new sim ACTUALLY does it, it’s suddenly a “problem”? We should all be more thankful that such technology exists. Tell me, what is the core business of ORBX? How did Orbx grow as a company, could it be to sell scenery? …yeah that sounds about right. Visuals were always an huge argument that Xplaners used when comparing it to p3d. Now that p3d has surpassed Xplane in visual terms and Msfs2020 has surpassed both in looks and scenery, it’s suddenly an offense to produce the world in great detail, I don’ get it. The fact is: no other company is able to do what asobo and microsoft have pulled of, certainly not LM and not laminar research.
Let’s all pray for that.
One thing people don’t take into account is that we are probably not going to have good realistic / study level airplanes with MSFS like this. Almost every update broke something in the addons and developers are blamed and have to rework their products.
Also, there are other things that interfere with the plane performance making very hard or impossible to develop a product that works fine.
