Is that you in that plane?

I have to give Asobo some praise on this one.

This past 4th I went to my sisters house for the holiday. I put a small vid I had uploaded to youtube on there TV. A few seconds later my brother in-law walked in the room and knowing I am an aviation nerd asked “is that you in that plane?”

He had failed to realize that what he was looking at was computer generated graphics at which point my sister let out a laugh and explained it to him. As real as it gets? Might be getting close

The vid that fooled him

That don’t look no where near real

Perhaps on the TV it does and to the members of his family it did. Perhaps it’s about his story which I found nice.

Let’s keep positive.

Not everyone has a 4k camera so…
I can perfectly understand that someone who doesn’t know about MSFS would be fooled.

Hey! Did you fly over my house just now?

That looks like a very smooth video ! And the altitude is suitable… is it real or not… with good cockpit lighting… credible sky… I’m not surprised at all.

Tip for readers, there is a giant topic about this, with many screen shots… some images present obvious differences between MSFS and reality, but other images are unmarked and you (and certainly your family member) can’t tell what’s real and what’s not

It will definatly depend on what you watch it on. In my brother inlaws case a 65 inch OLED CX. On a TV like that even the Kardashians start to look real and we all know how fake they are.

I remember once talking with a rando FB friend. He asked what am I doing, I sent him bunch of msfs screenshots and he was like omg are you in a plane? After which I asked…umm not sure how would I take that pic from outside at 12k feet dude :joy:

Agree. If you zoom into most Kardashains they pixelate.
