yes i have,
i only write about of my point of view in moment how the msfs 2020 looks like to me for now
What sim (stock) has done what I quoted you on?
EDIT: Oh, I see what you’re saying now. Sorry, it was a little hard to understand.
Except the exact steps are unknown, I have cycled between the two before a couple of times with no effect! Consequently I assumed this wasn’t causing my sensitivity problem.
The one time it did work my steps were as follows:
- I switched to Legacy in the main menu,
- This caused a CTD upon starting a flight which normally doesn’t happen to me (could be unrelated?)
- Started up MSFS again and checked if flight model was still set to Legacy (it was).
- Started a new flight, this time without CTD, flew around a bit.
- Switched to Modern flight model.
No idea what legacy flight model it was using though, according @AwarePlot117729 the default (unlocked) aircraft don’t have a legacy flight model anymore!
Just to be clear, they do still have the parameters for the legacy flight model in the flight_model.cfg flile. They have added a new parameter in the cfg file that will either (1) allow either flight model to be used with that airplane, or (2) lock it to the modern flight model. In the default airplanes, which are intended to be used with the modern flight model, that parameter is set to force use of the modern flight model, overriding any option set in the user options menu.
its hard to say for me how realistic msfs flight model is as ive never flown irl. but when i compare it to other flight sims, it feels pretty good.
in xplane you have the zibo 737 which is a study level free 737.
you have to see, development of a study level aircraft takes 2-3 years, is a lot of effort. price tag is more than justified. and,you do not need the A319 and A321. one is enough!
flight simming comes with a price tag, if you cannot affored you have choosen the wrong hobby. we buy pcs for thousands of USD / EUR and then is no money left for the software ?!
Why not? What if there is a VA one flies for that doesn’t operate the 320 but does the 319 and / or 321?
Yes, that’s why XP has many of them, and MSFS hardly any yet.
Price level of a FREE plane is justified? say what?
I think the PMDG 737, 777 and 747 are coming relatively soon™.
Yes as it’s a teaser, because if this study level aircraft manages expectation, it possibly lures you into buying others. A risk? Yes, but that would be calculated in.
This is under the assumption this one is free and meets expectations.
Aircraft and mods that were produced for FSX cannot enjoy the full benefits of the MSFS flight model so before you complain be sure to check on it’s/their development path(s).
I haven’t flown the zibo, but what I have seen people doing it on youtube it looks to be more or less on par with the FBW. Possibly it has more for PC simming unnecessary knobs working than FBW has.
Is this hearsay or fact? What are your expert sources for this claim?
No, it is apparently heresy.
FWB does a good job with the 320 Asobo base, but I would say that it is more or less close to the Zibo and not the opposite ![]()
I’m looking forward to the Fenix simulations A320ceo currently in development. I’ve kept P3d and FSLabs A320 on it for now for refreshers and sim prep, but this new one completely blows them out of the water with regards to system depth. I’m hoping handling will be good enough to finally ditch the old sim.
I agree with the lack of inertia and feel in the previous sims (and that aircraft are now a little less on rails in MSFS), and agree that the default A320 is basically rubbish, even in its modelling accuracy. FBW attempts to fix a lot of the issues, but haven’t given it a spin for a while. Fenix is the one that will present itself as a very usable A320.
Really hope we can get back to flying soon! For me it’s only been 3 months this time around, with a 9 month stint last year. Having these sims has helped me out a lot!
What is funny, I have just made 2 attempts of challenge with the TBM in Courchevel, the others I screwed up, my first, I made 800 000, the second, I made 1233000. I beat Até, whom I mentioned above, who is a former fighter pilot and 737 Max pilot. So I guess the flight model, control, etc…, is far from the truth, or else I should have been a pilot, I have it in my skin, LOL.

my challenge
Até challenge
Well, you actually cheated. A real pilot wouldn’t touch down with a power setting above idle,
especially not at Courchevel, let alone with such a high power setting like you have used. ![]()
sorry, I didn’t look at that at all, I just looked at my speed and throttle back, I did a filling looking at my touchdown point and throttle back to avoid passing the reds, but I must admit that I certainly didn’t do a conventional landing, especially since I’m just a couch potato pilot
