It’s been reported for a long time, but Asobo is still asleep at the switch. Happened twice in the last few days for me where after about 3 hours into the flight the fps kept getting slower and slower until it was around 8fps (pretty inexcusable for a 3080 card). Tried all the suggestions from previous posts, but nothing worked. Now it has the added wrinkle of just suddenly swaying violently for no reason and losing all control and crashing. A fix for this really needs to be given a higher priority. I’m going to send a Zendesk ticket, but just wanted to put it out to the community.
I’m going to try and reproduce what you are experiencing. Can you provide me specifics so I can mimic the flights you ran into issues with? I’ve done a few flights between KORD and SBGL in a 787, and haven’t encountered what you have.
My only advise for people who don’t know how to fix it yet, is to open dev mode and open aircraft selector and reload your plane. This will give you all your fps back. You will have to configure the AP and input your flight plan into the fmc again but at least you can resume your flight.
Also, the memory leak bug is not to be confused with the live traffic bug wherein turning live traffic off and on fixes it.
I do a lot of 3,4 and 5 hour flights in the G38. Have not seen that.
I dunno.. I’ve had 8-hour flights before and I never get to experience the issue you’re having.
I have that sometimes. I guess it’s only belonging to live traffic and/or AI traffic.
I had a few hours in the pacific area where no traffic coming up and i didn’t got that loss of fps.
I’ve had it happen. It’s been a while since it went that low, but I definitely know what you’re referring to.
I’ve only experienced this with live/multiplayer traffic on.
I’ve haven’t turned it on since.
DItto… I done the 2 day flights (on AP), cross-crossing the USA, and never a CTD, or any permanent decrease in FPS.
What would help (maybe) in solving this issue for others, would be exact steps to reproduce this loss of FPS effect.
ie Plane, Route (.fpn), what other FS programs are running (ie LNM etc), and conditions with Nothing in Community folder, and what is in Official.
Trying to get the FPS slow down with the most Minimum of loaded / installed addons in Official.
Maybe, if the Community could come up with such a closely defined test, that did cause this FPS decrease, the Asobo could reproduce it and find the fix.
Check your temps, maybe theyr to high

It happens to me, where I go from about 45 fps to 20 fps. This happens when I leave it running all night, then return in the morning.
I key in on the GPU utilization in Task Manager (Windows). I always notice that the utilization is down to about 60% (from 95% when I first started the flight). I also noted that, when I save the flight and then reload, the fps comes back (and the utilization, of course). This is, however, clunky, since the flight plan then also needs to be reloaded.

Checkout this post. It seems there may be a work around. Doing a long haul from KSDF-OMDB tonight and will follow up in the morning. I plan on trying this to see if it works as a work around until Asobo can implement a solution.
DO you even have to “set some destination on the flight assistant tab” ?
Maybe just cycling the AI Pilot has the same effect ?? (strange as it may be)
It’s been a random thing with me and happened 1 out of my last 3 long flights. The last time was a EINN to KEWR run. HOWEVER… I can confirm that the fix in Flight Assistant works! It immediately restored my fps to proper levels, where it stayed for the rest of the flight.
Exactly this. Was down from 60 FPS to 16 after 5 hours. Just switch off live traffic and multiplayer and instantly back up to 60. Thank you!
Edit: and if I switch them both back on again I get no reduction.
Same here, After 2 or 3 hours of flight my fps decrease significantly.
Sometimes switch off live traffic works and sometimes set destination with ai works.
BUT at least its not enjoyable to do that…
PLEASE Asobo do something quickly.
According to their last Q&A stream Jorg nodded and said he didn’t even know that is a thing still because he though it was fixed :))) So there is your answer 
According to the release note for SU6 it will be fixed
