Is there a CWS command that can be bound?

As per the title, looking for a command to bind momentary CWS for autopilot. It doesn’t appear that this exists, but I just wanted to double check here.

What is CWS?

Control Wheel Steering

What is Control Wheel Steering?

Thanks, didn’t know.

What plane? PMDG 737 perhaps? If so, you’ll probably have to use custom software like Spad.Next or FSUIPC to bind to it.

Yes, that’s what I’m trying to do - bind it in FSUIPC. But it I can’t find a command or equivalent command in simconnect that does this. My question is about - does anyone know if MSFS even supports CWS?

I use Spad.Next, and these are the relevant events (PMDG’s events, not Simconnect)

@SteveKane This is specific to PMDG aircraft though, is that correct? I’m trying to do this on the Asobo C208b.

This post :

https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/implement-sync-or-control-wheel-steering-momentary-button-functionality-interacts-with-autopilot/471801

says that the CWS is implemented but it not explains how to bind a button to that functionality. Does anyone know how to do?

The BAe 146 has an Autopilot “Sync” button that Just Flight tied to the Toggle Afterburner or Hold Afterburner commands.

I’m not sure what binding @PopsMcDaddyo was referring to when he ask that his report be closed due to implementation for G1000-equipped aircraft.

Perhaps he will enlighten us!

After reading through part of the POH that deals with the autopilot for a real plane I fly, I was so interested to read about the use of the CWS switch. I’m surprised I never heard about it before.

It seems to be a thing the sim is missing for the G1000 planes. Maybe someone from working title can chime in if it is a feature or not? The CWS switch should allow you to easily change the VS rate of climb and the FLC speed by just using the control stick alone. I’m really interested to try it out.
