Is there a way to move pilot position forward without zooming in?

I like to fly fully zoomed out for FOV. However, instruments can be too small to read when fully zoomed out…and since we can’t (yet) move instrument panels to a 2nd monitor (or if we can I don’t know how) then I need to move the pilot eye point forward in the cockpit…but doing so zooms in the outside scene.

In FSX you could position the pilots eyepoint using CTRL / SHIFT and ENTER / BACKSPACE to move up/down, forward/back…and moving forward doesn’t zoom in.

Up/Down/Left/Right keys move your position in the cockpit without zooming.

I googled it for you. If i was at home i would have looked in the key binding settings.

Left-Alt and arrow keys. If this doesn’t work change the Left alt to right alt in the bindings.

up/down/left/right…doesn’t move forward or back. But thanks for the reply.

ALT-UP…zooms in the outside scene. This is why I specifically ask if there’s a way to move forward in the cockpit without zooming in the outside scene.

But it doesn’t zoom in the outside scene when using the binds inside the cockpit right? Is it bound to more functions you mean?

Move viewpoint forward is a seperate function you can bind it to whatever you like right?

Im pretty sure external view keybinds only work when the external view is active. I would say that’s a bug if it didn’t work like that. But then again change the bindings to whatever you like and that should solve your problem.

I recommend you watch the camera tutorial by Squirrel on Youtube.

That may be the problem, that the move forward is also bound to a zoom, cos it most definitely does zoom the outside scene in when inside the cockpit. I’ll check next time I’m in game.

I couldn’t find this either. I can move left/right/up/down, but forward/back, only zoom.

Did you ever solve this issue?

RIGHT ALT + ARROWS to move around.

Nope. I’ve searched in game for what is mapped to both left and right ALT + cursor keys and there’s nothing except move forward…which zooms in the scene.

But you can move instrument panels as you need it
Right alt and click on any panel

Can ya move the panels to a 2nd monitor? No. Then anywhere I can move them to will be in the way. But thanks for the suggestion.

Might be nice to be nicer to people trying to help you…funny, look second monitor

Huh? Dammit, this is what I get for believing what other people say. I’ve read loads of comments (mainly on youtube I grant you) from people whinging that 2nd monitors can’t be used except to stretch the image over both.

[Swoop you must learn not to believe everything you read].

And yeah, you’re right about the tone as well. I’ve been reading everything LilPika was spewing last night and my hackles are still up. Sorry.
