Is this only happening to me or anyone else is having problems?
yes we are all getting that error message. Thank you Microsoft for continuing a long history of providing useless error messages that if anything point you in the wrong direction.

Xbox live services are currently experiencing issues, which is causing problems with authentication when opening MSFS
Man, that’s quite a stretch from “insert your game disc” to xbox server outage.

Same here. To be honest I don’t get the challenge of placing a proper error message like “Your online version of MSFS can currently not be authenticated. Please try again later”. Request to insert disk sounds like a bad joke.

Me too, I was just flying online in VR, and then was going to do a 2D tubeliner flight. Rebooted the computer and now I cannot get in to the sim. 
How many sad faces can I have???

i had the same message insert game disk but now the sim works for me, l`m in Australia.
