Flew into Oshkosh naively expecting the colored runway dots and they weren’t there. “Of course” I thought, “I’ll have to throw down a couple bucks for some enhanced scenery” - but none available through Marketplace! Simming on Xbox btw. Checked the Third Party Airports and Scenery forum and it doesn’t look like there’s any in the works.
There are several third party add-ons for PC. I would message these developers and ask them to publish on the Marketplace. Custom scenery for Wittman Regional, the colored dots, Pioneer Airport, and the STOL/Ultralight strip are up on flightsim.to. PilotEdge also has extensive AirVenture scenery. Hopefully Asobo will take note, produce an official expansion, and come to the real AirVenture with a booth like Microsoft used to back in the day.
Yeah, it’s a bummer. I was hoping Microsoft would add KOSH Airventure as a handcrafted airport in one of the U.S. updates. It feels so empty compared to when airventure is going on. I hope it can be a thing at some point, and I’m surprised it isn’t already.
Its available through PilotEdge for PC only. SimVenture Oshkosh 2022 - Fly to OSH with Real Oshkosh Air Traffic Controllers - #3 by azgoodaz
Hi there,
The place to ask about airports available through the Marketplace is Third Party Addon Discussion > Airports. I have moved your topic there.
We won’t have a booth, but a lot of us on the MS side will be there wandering around later this week, Seedy and myself included!
Could there be a category on the forums where members can share their photography of real aircraft? I went to airventure and would love to share photos, and I imagine a lot of other forum members here did the same, not to mention a lot of irl pilots would probably love to share photos of their real aircraft. I think it’d be a good thing for the MSFS community, unless it already is and I just haven’t found it.
You can do so on the Official MSFS Discord server, but this forum is focused on the simulator.
Fair enough, although I do think it should be considered in the future, as it would certainly benefit the community.
Sadly PilotEdge only offers the scenery during the Oshkosh time period. It’s not available for download otherwise. It’d be an awesome promo for their service if they’d release it wide.
