Hi all - I’m building my first panels and have been mucking about with instrument placing and sizing etc. My panels will contain some MFD/PFD overlays so I need to set Transparent = on.
No matter how I arrange things, I can’t seem to find a layout that will fill the screen from corner to corner. With Transparent = on, my Windows wallpaper shows through in the spots where I haven’t placed instruments.
I was wondering if there were any ‘space-filler’ instruments (I was imagining something that just looked like a plate with maybe screws at the corners) that could be used to fill in the gaps?
Cheers!
The best way to achieve this is to build a background “dashboard” and then make cutouts in it where the displays would go.
This is typically how it’s done.
That said, what aircraft are you building this for? As this may already exist.
I’m flying a Beechcraft Baron 58, but I have an extensive physical simpit so a lot of the stuff on the default Baron panel I don’t need. My starting point was the Baron 58 panel, I removed all the stuff I don’t need and shuffled some stuff around to make space for a g1000 PFD.
I’m also splitting the AM panels over two displays, my 2nd display being a small touchscreen which will house the MFD.
I’m intrigued by your ‘background panel’ suggestion - is that something configured in AM or a simple Windows Wallpaper?
Thanks for replying!
