100%, Yawman is awesome if you must go remote. The dedicated controls are so much easier to use than Xbox mappings. I’m a HUGE Xbox controller fan but for FS the Yawman is just so much better. The trim wheel is worth the price of admission alone. A tiny learning curve to figure out the logic behind button mappings, but so worth it.
Yes, it has arrived and I’m really liking it! Even the basic one works out of the box, though now I’d need to learn some new bindings ![]()
I just use the default bindings. Less setup
You use the default bindings on what? The Xbox controller or the Yawman?
I do on Xbox.
Yes, I know you use Xbox; there are two controllers in discussion now, the Xbox Controller, and the Yawman controller. Both usable on Xbox. Should we assume you mean you use the default configuration of an standard Xbox controller? I’m just trying to clarify which controller you use the default setup on of the two.
I’ve considered getting the Yawman controller, but forgot about it.
Typo, trying to do too many things at once. Yes, I use the Microsoft Xbox wireless controller. and I mainly use the default controller mappings, once I made my own but it was finicky & I didn’t bother.
I just removed the cursor movement from left stick (as I have a mouse), and thought about switching flight controls to the right one. For me, it is not as straightforward as a DJI drone controller lol.
Cheers for that man that’s a good Pic, I was wondering if you could do button combinations on a controller and that kinda answered it
Oh yes. Even triple combinations if you want. For example I have toggle slew mode with this combination: RB+LB+Y
And I have been using controller since day one (on Xbox), I have TB rudders, stick and yoke/quadrant but sometimes is more convenient for me to use the controller as I have limited time to use the Sim.
Well guys…
I thought me quitting my job and traveling turkey and Crete would have given me a perfect opportunity to abstain from the game and detox…
Looks like I’ll be carrying on simming ![]()

Especially knowing that I can have a range of combination keys ![]()

Tell me…
Is it possible to fly my Asobo 72 and the fenix 320??? As in auto flight control or max flex/CL mode??? Or should I use this as a perfect opportunity to use my long lost and forgotten GA aircraft
People do it. That’s a you question. We can’t tell you what you want to do.

Would you mind sharing some of the assignments you use when using the controller for “extra” functions?
Since this thread has been revived I’d like to suggest the MS Elite Series 2. I do all of my MSFS 20/24 siming with on XBOX and with that controller alone even though there is a PC, VR and HOTAS in another room. I prefer the freedom, comfort and flexibility of a high quality controller.
I second to that with additional 4 paddles Im able to keybind very well every airplane in msfs 2020. Unfortunately Msfs2024 ui and control setup is broken for xbox for now (hel8copters are out of bounds)…
It is. While I have yokes, quadrants, pedals, keyboard & mouse connected to my Series X; I still use the controller for non-flight functions. That last part is important, I have removed all the flight functions from my controller profiles as I never use them and they would cause conflicts.
I have the paddles too. But they are mapped to existing buttons (A,B,X,Y). Are you able to expand them beyond the buttons, pad, bumpers available on a controller without the paddles (ie, 4 extra inputs)?
Unfortunately not,
. But it gives me easy accessible additional keybinds sequences like XY RB, or even more, with paddles I can easy press four buttons at once.
I had promised myself NOT to open the sim on xmas day, but decided to test a theory that actually works, should help anyone.
I have the usual bunch of hardware (yokes, hotas, quadrants, etc), but I also have 4 gamepads - 2 MSI and 2 XBox.
Tested by creating a duplicate profile of one of the MSI controllers, deleted the left stick left/right assignment (ailerons), then reassigned it to nosewheel.
Tested - now I can use the second gamepad for taxi and maneuvering until airspeed gets high enough for the yoke and rudder to take over. The other controller still works like normal.
Having the full axis for the nosewheel makes a big difference.
So you might want to pack 2 gamepads.
Happy holidays.
