The regular DEV one is ok … but the CFBW works better with the Thrustmaster TQA … and the AP is really better … I made several long haul and short haul flight without an issue
ok simbrief integration is nice on the DEV one .. but a working AP anda spot on TQA detent is what you want
Where do you get the cfbw version from? I downloaded directly from their website and it’s not the same…
https://flybywiresim-packages.nyc3.cdn.digitaloceanspaces.com/vmaster-cfbw/A32NX-master-cfbw.zip
here .. direct download
Thanks.
Pardon my ignorance, but every update will be required to follow the same process?
Will this be ever be fixed where the quadrant will work out of the box without all this calibration?
Yes, they update the custom version at the same time as the dev version. This could be ranging from 1x up to 3x a day. So you have to download from the same link and to the delete and reinstall process everytime you want to have the latest and greatest version.
But the calibration and the throttle config is only done once at the start. Whenever you download and update to the latest version, you don’t need to do recalibration of the throttle anymore. (unless Asobo pushes a major patch update that changes the sensitivity curve again, but that’s not hard to do and very rare).
The direct link to the ZIP file is taken from their Github page. You can go to the github page and download the Custom FBW version, but the link is exactly same as the one provided here. So we put that directly so you can just bookmark it and click on it whenever you want to download the latest version directly without having to go to their github page.
This is difficult to say, the problem with the quadrant out of the box is that it was weirdly calibrated to begin with. You’ll have to raise this issue with the Thrustmaster QA department, I’m afraid. But to be honest, the calibration is only needed just once at the start, or maybe when there’s a new firmware. But again, it’s not that hard to do, and you’ll get used to it.
Thank you for the great guide. Though…
Anybody having trouble creating the A32NX/work folder?
The folder is not being created automatically even though I am using the latest cfbw.
I even tried creating a ./work/ThrottleConfiguration.ini manually, which did not solved the problem either.
The work folder isn’t created in the Packages\Community\A32NX\Work… It’s actually outside of the Community folder. so it should be Packages\a32nx\Work. Notice the lower case letters in the folder name, compared to the All caps of the mod itself in the Community folder.
It’s created once when you load the sim and start a flight in the A320. Just start a flight, and quit the sim, and you should have the a32nx\work folder created “Outside” of the Community folder.
in my case it is there ( self creating didnt work …I also tried in the beginning )
\WpSystem\S-1-5-21-897729106-1531712718-983998438-1001\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalState\packages\a32nx
SOLVED:
The Packages\a32nx\work\ directory always appears in C:\ drive, regardless of my MSFS installation path. Thank you @Neo4316 and @alpenlaender for the guidance.
My MSFS home path:
H:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\MicrosoftFlightSimulator
a32nx\works path:
C:\Users<UserName>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft Flight Simulator\Packages\a32nx\work
I haven’t had any issues yet, but I am stuck on putting the crossbar in quadrant to connect the throttles.
I got some simple questions, what are some of your sensitivity settings for the twin jets (CJ4, A320, and B787)? I already got one for GA so I would like some help on that. Also, since I only have one quadrant, how would the controls work on the 747 since it has 4 engines?
For the Airbus you will find the best configuration if you use the fbw custom version and the linear curves with the throttle.ini scroll up and you will finde good instructions by user neo.
I think a boeing works the same and you will steering all 4 engines and can’t use them separately with only one throttle. And I don’t know if the linear curves are right for the boeing so you maybe have to create different profiles for different planes.
Deleated (I found the file)
Hey, after the folder path “microsoftflightsimulstor and alot of letters and numbers”, theres to different “packages” folders. One with the capital and all the liveries and mods. Other one has the work file and .ini files. Try that
theres no work folder on A320 community
It’s outside of the community folder. Not inside it. This is how it should look like when you installed the Experimental FBW version of the mod:
Packages\Community\A32NX
(This is not the folder you want)
Packages\A32NX\Work
(This is the folder you want)
i have the Microsoft version no steam theres no folder as you describe
found it is in LocalState not Local:
%LOCALAPPDATA%\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalState\packages<name of a32nx folder in community folder>\work\ThrottleConfiguration.ini
That’s why I only mention from the Packages folder and not the folders above it. Glad you found it.
