JF Piper Arrow Update Discussion

I have been looking for this new switch to change between GPS/VLOC for the autopilot and cannot find it “in the bottom right of the main panel just next to the GPS”. Would someone mind taking a screenshot of the switch location and posting it?

Next to VOR 2 instrument, directly above the throttle.

It is labelled Nav / GPS

Thanks TrickedList137 and EnoughBard39362, I found it, they certainly hid it nicely!

My only other nit pick, the cover to replace the G100 when using the GTN750 mod, why white? How about same color as the rest of the panel?

It isn’t white, it looks like something is going wrong for some people during the install. Either that, or a mod is causing an issue. Do you have any installed? If you have WeptBurrito’s mod you need to delete it until he has put out an update.

As you can see, mine is an all black blanking panel.

Yep, I had the lighting mod as well as the interior color mod (grey), removed both, restarted the sim and now I have an all black panel, thanks EnoughBard39362!

I have checked the autopilot.

Altitude hold works well and stable for me.

The NAV mode drift the plan off-course..

Only thing is, i can not setup transponder on the PMS50 GTN750..

Wonder if it might be down to fuel level or CG?

dosnt know :man_shrugging:t4:

I’ve updated to 0.5.0. No issues with ALT hold so far, or cosmetic issues with the cockpit.

Is there a CLEAN/NEW Model, without all the excessive wear & tear ?
If so, How do I get it loaded ?

Slightly off-topic but what is this mod you are talking about from weptburrito?

The new square button labelled as "Elect Pitch Trim… Push On/Off " what exactly does that do. Does it supply power to a Trim switch somewhere that I cant find ?

Hi. It’s this one, very nice change it is too!

Also, FWIW at the second time of asking I’m having no autopilot issues. Odd, but good news

I have zero problems now. That weird jittery thing during cruise is gone. Alt hold is stable, everything works lovely, including the new blank panel when I have 750 on. And no CTDs. I am happy!

on Flightsim.to, Archer has done a clean interior as well as three other clean interiors with different colours. Its worth a look. the Just Flight clean interior is to be found in the folder;

C:\Users.…\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache\Packages\Community\justflight-aircraft-pa28-arrow-iii\cockpit,

but last I checked the carpet was filthy and I couldn’t fit my vacuum cleaner in to clean it…

edit:

Instructions on how to install the clean cockpit are below lifted from the manual.

This simulation of the Arrow III is an exact likeness of the real-life G-BGKU, including the significant wear and
tear to the cockpit resulting from decades of use as a training aircraft. For those who would prefer a less worn
cockpit, we have included a set of alternative textures. The two texture sets can be found in the ‘\justflightaircraft-pa28-arrow-iii\Cockpit\’ folder and replace the files found in ‘\justflight-aircraft-pa28-arrow-iii\SimObjects
Airplanes\JF_PA28_Arrow\TEXTURE.VC’ folder.

The Autopilot really drives me nuts.

Sometimes I just can not get a simple AP heading to hold or to follow a pre loaded flight plan. Other times it works, I just cant work out any pattern to it.

So frustrating.

Anybody else?

I have never had these issues with the AP on here. It has always followed everything. Make sure you are on proper CDI and on NAV mode.

Many thanks — far easier than a repaint !!

Just tested the ALT hold function and I can’t replicate the issue. Mine holds the altitude perfectly.
