So, currently I’m trying to adjust my controls, as I found it almost impossible to do correct IFR maneuvers.
For example: when I need to lose 100 feet and then even it out or need to maintain an altitude at greater speeds I have severe difficulty staying on track with default settings (Logitech 3d extreme pro).
Now to my question: since I am no professional, can experienced pilots maybe give me a hint on what is considered realistic or closer to realism? I have no way of knowing how sensitive the controls should actually be, but when I watch videos of cessnas, for instance, it always seems like you really need to move that yoke before anything happens. When I just slightly move the joystick, the reaction seems wayyyy too extreme. Any input is appreciated. Cheers!
The sensitivity is all wrong in the sim. Do a search here if you want to research it.
Search also for issues others with your joystick have regarding flight control axis.
If you really want good control, get FSUIPC7.
Make sure you’re not set to use the Legacy flight model and that it’s set to Modern. Last patch, it got switched to Legacy for a lot of people and made hand flying very difficult to impossible.
If it’s set to Modern, you can go into your controller settings and decrease sensitivity on your stick axes. I find about -50% works really well.
Assign your axis to the commands, and then calibrate them.
While doing that, set the slope of the axis for the response you want, (too much, not enough etc, it will take a few trial flights)
You can also enter deadzones then, if necessary.
If you are unfamiliar with it, or having problems let us know.
