I really like this add-on so far. Very detailled and they really nailed the attractions with intricate modeling and texturing. The dinosaurs also look great and are very well animated.
A few observations that could use some improvements/fixes:
Isla Nublar is where it’s at. It has the most places to see and of course the main attraction of Jurassic World.
There are also a couple of cool things on Isla Sorna (like the river cage for avians and an InGen facility from Jurassic Park III), but the rest of the archipelgao is just padding with nothing to write home about.
Isla Matanceros and Isla Muerta just have a couple of barren dirtstrips with dirt roads that lead to nowhere but dead ends, and a couple of helipads in nonsensical locations that don’t support any structures either and seem to have no discernable purpose. No dinosaurs that I could spot on those two islands.
There seem to be no dinosaur sound effects whatsoever. Not even in the Tyrannosaur enclosure where the T-Rex roars as part of its animation cycle.
The Indominus Rex is not animated. It just sits there completely frozen between some trees, with branches clipping through its head
Buildings have collision detection that prevents the drone cam from entering or staying on the ground when going underneath catwalks and such, which hinders exploration. You can only enter the detailled Innovation Center with your avatar, but that limits the perspective and the field of view while also having the UI prompts at the bottom that we can’t get rid of some reason.
There were no little dinosaurs in the petting zoo.
No Triceratops?! (didn’t find any)
No Spinosaurus?! (except the skeleton in Jurassic World)? I didn’t see any of those either).
The grass textures look very blurry, which doesn’t work well with the 3D grass disappearing not too far from the camera.
All in all still a very cool addon that is a really good representation of Jurassic World. Definitely worth it, despite some minor issues.
Sadly the grass is a real immersion breaking bummer. I like the addon, but the ground texture without the grass is ugly. The draw distance of the gras is very short. It’s so short it is mainly for screenshots. Hope they sort that out, than it will become great instead of very good.
What it does was, giving me a reason to get the Taogs 500C. This thing in this environment is fun. As long as I don’t have to land. I can fly this, but I am not able to land this thing smoothly. But this is true for nearly any helicopter in the Sim…
Yeah, but to be fair, this is mostly meant as a flight simming scenery and you wouldn’t be able to hear them over the sound of the engines. Then again, FS2024 does have the On Foot mode and that would definitely profit from a rich soundscape (just like Asobo already provided for the world, with birds, traffic, water splashing etc.).
Freeware developer ChikenStrip23 is already trying to add more dinosaurs (including small ones in the petting zoo), goats for the T-Rex, sharks for the Mosasaur, and people to gawk at them all (or perhaps to be eaten later ): https://flightsim.to/file/97740/archipelago-enhancement-scenery.
I love the rugged terrain, it looks great with clouds and dawn/dusk lighting. Very fun to fly around the islands. Frankly, I was expecting a LOT more dinosaurs, like multiple herds roaming the open grassy areas, dozens of herbivores around all the lakes and rivers, or an odd T. Rex roaring on a mountain top. I admit I don’t know if adding that many dinosaurs would stress the frame rate. The dinos that are there look great, but there are way too few IMO. Still, I really like it!
How do I get back in Developer Mode while in Jurassic World ? The single aircraft I’m constrained to using is unstable and can’t set flaps and other things - need complete control and choice of aircraft, time of day, season, etc like when in free flight.
Has anyone had much luck with the aerocaches for JW? I’ve found a few, but some seem a bit obtuse. In 2020 they were supposed to show up, but some didn’t and some didn’t seem to work at all.
OK time to get this and have a fly around, loving the idea! Love Dinosaurs.
$41 in Australia, not cheap but if it gives me more than a couple hours of exploring will be worth it.
