The VMR file is not up to date and doesn’t use the new models added to the fleet.
A number of aircraft were added with this update to the fleet…
True however the issue im having is that its downloading 8gb but when i install its like its downloading that 8gb again and using more storage.
No, It’s unzipping the files as part of the installation process.
If you’re down to the last 25GB of space on your SSD then you need a new drive. SSD’s start to see performance degradation once over about 2/3rds full.
Don’t blame JF for something that isn’t their fault. It couldn’t be any clearer on their website;
Sure. When msfs was first released I got a pre built pc with 250gb ssd. On the first install I had it on the ssd, taking up about 180 gb. The ssd started having lags, as there were freezes and ctds in game and also in windows only. At first I thought something was broken but when I transferred msfs to the1tb hdd the problem was gone. Since that day I like to keep only windows installed on my ssd. Maybe upgrade to a 1tb ssd for msfs in future, however no problems whatsoever with msfs on hdd👍
I only have a 500gb drive its crazy how much space mfs and addons take so much space. But anyway going to look at getting a bigger drive.
There are some decent deals around for SSDs. If you’re in the UK I’d recommend having a look at www.scan.co.uk.
Hello,
Are we gonna get an answer about the VMR file?
Or do we have to make the changes ourselves for each new model added to the fleet?
When FSLTL fleet is updated they provided an updated VMR file too, and their product is free.
I noticed the traffic amount setting is gone and in the update release notes it says this:
- Module: Removed Traffic Density option from the In-Game Menu. The amount of traffic generated can be adjusted via the Time Before Departure Value (Mins) option in the TCC
Mine is currently set to 90…but what exactly does that mean in regards to the amount of traffic generated? What would be the difference between the default 90 or say, changing it to 60 or 30?
90= all aircraft expected to leave gate in the next 90 minutes will be spawned on the departure airport
all other traffic is controlled with the "time between cruise traffic spawn attempts ", the less, the more amounts of times it will generate traffic
Thanks for that…now I get it. I think one cool addition would be when specifying the arrival airport in-game, through the FS Traffic menu, you could set the time stuff there in that menu, instead of having to open the app, outside of the game itself…Would come in handy when flying into “heavy” airports that tax CPU/GPU to be able to lower it, in game. I’m thinking of when I fly into KLAX, a very taxing airport on resources to be able to set a lower time, in-game, per arrival airport…
first full test flight save and loaded flight full traffic at destination . A first with fs traffic update works
Is it possible to improve the behavior of aircraft’s so they do a more realistic flare when landing and a more realistic rotation when taking off, they look like lifeless robots now when executing landings and takeoffs
I’m not quite sure if AI providers can do something about it, looks like a sim issue. In fact there’s a topic partly related what you mention.
https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/live-traffic-taking-off-nearly-instantly-after-initial-take-off-roll
I saw today B789 departed immediately once the TOGA was set
Thanks. If you watch a video with AI traffic like fsltl combined with PSXT and the Real Taffic app the landing flares and take off rotations are almost perfect which proves the real behavior can be simulated. Let’s hope the developers tackle this important issue
Side note but anyone using an external SSD (with USB-C latest version) connection for MSFS?
Do you have the ability to delete aircraft / schemes that you will never need in order to save a bit of file space?
I guess you could, although I haven’t tried.
I’m using an external spare 1TB NVMe with USB-C 3.1 connection for all my add-on airports and applications, as both my internal NVMe slots are occupied. MSFS works fine even using the CompactGUI compression application.
I was using an external SSD USB-C 3.0 before and it also worked fine with MSFS, although airport add-on loading time may be marginally longer when measured.
