just to be sure. It has a Garmin right? Because I don’t like to use the vor to vor function if possible, mainly because that is a big hassle when flying on vatsim
It will yes but we can’t say exactly when at the moment. Possibly looking at a few weeks. We’ll do our bit when we can and hopefully look to submit to MS for the MP next week or the week after. Thanks.
Well, I’m not sure exactly on where vatsim stands with vor to vor. But it’s a thing that makes life a little harder lol. But I will try both and see how I like it
The only real trouble I have so far is the high frequency “engine whistle” when the aircraft is in climb. I heard it before on previews but hoped it was just a minor glitch. I even consider the possibility that its one of them high frequency sounds that (dare I say it) only young ears can catch on. It sounds like a continuous stopwatch alarm or something and it seems to come from the engine intakes, but I mostly hear it in cockpit when facing forward (somewhat less when turning my simulated head to watch out of the side window).
Are there more young ears sensitive to this frequency?
It’s pretty horrible on the ILS - has a very hard time holding G/S, I had to actually drop below Vapp ( set via click just before approach ) to stop it climbing over & on the approach I just did - with a pretty stiff crosswind - it overcompensated & drifted to the upwind side of the runway. I’m gonna check that’s not a defaut/WT AP messing things up but I generally try not to install anything from the MP that’s not needed ( I just use a 750 anyway ).
It’s oversensitive to turbulence in rol, it almost snaps between roll angles, which goes with what I said about it feeling too responsive in roll when controlled directly. This is something a great many MSFS aircraft also suffer from ( and why I’ve got a giant set of FM patches ) usually it’s in the area of excessive roll_stability & not enough roll moment - the game undershoots estimates so badly they patched in a multiplier you can set…
After landnig in the crosswind it tried to do what the 146 did for a while & sink into the downwind side - it’s not terrible & you should wind a lot of aileron on in a crosswind anyway, but it’s noticeably slightly odd.
Some EFB options aren’t saving ( and yes, the same aircraft ) - I keep having to turn rudder steering off every time, for instance.
Systems are awesome, it’s an entertaining cockpit! and wow does it really not want to slow down, this is going to take a little learning.
Edit: sensitive NWS still there after binding a separate tiller. Can’t help thinking steernig needs a few more sim config entries… the 146 is quite nice to taxi, maybe just lift that setup in it’s entirety?
@NORTMAR is that you doing the FO voice this time?
No because once you load into the plane and change the setting to use the GPS the flight plan is gone and you have to reinput it by hand. i.e. there is no flight plan in the GPS at all
I had the same thing, but only the first time. Once you have enabled the GPS in the EFB, leave the Flight, enter the Flightplan in the Worldmap again and load the flight. Then the Flightplan should appear on the VFR map and in the GPS FPLN.
I am not using state saving, but the state of the EFB options is normally saved between the flights. I can reproduce this with 100% succes. Just testet it for a short video. The state of the options is saved in a JF_28.ini text file. Maybe check if this file exists and is not write protected. Path for Steam version is
We snuck in that feature just before release. As you say, still limited by the sim SDK but we felt it was still worth including. Will be coming to the 146 soon too.
