Just Flight Hawk T.1

Absolutely loving this :slightly_smiling_face:

Has anyone managed to map the Airbrake to a switch on a HOTAS ?

Search for ‘spoiler’ commands as they operate the airbrakes. I have extend and retract spoiler or something similar mapped to a two way switch on my throttle and it works fine in the Hawk.

Thanks, I think I tried extend and retract, I will give it another go.

I just noticed the pilots heads turn at the same rate you turn the Hawk. Try it when you’re on the ground and move the joystick left and right, slow and fast. What a great touch.

There’s also some random element of movement to them, and their visor position is dependent on time of day and weather conditions. Oxygen usage also varies with altitude and number of flight crew.

Correct. That’s what I meant with “different avionics”

Yeah I just played about with this. This plane is incredible.

That’s some insane level of detail!

Sure. I mapped a hat switch on the CH throttle for spoiler out and spoiler in. It works just fine, but you do not see the switch on the throttle move. Speedbrake does extend though.

Incredible plane. Magnificient detail, superb handling, great frame rates. Pure fun and challenging enough. Congratulations to the whole team that created this.

Thanks for a great airplane. Request, can we get the OAT shown on the tablet so I know when I am nearing Icing conditions? Also, the GPS would be great to have ground speed, trk… a bit more info… Otherwise no complaints here. Gotta watch that fuel level, it goes fast.

I would also say the interior night lighting could use some work. The interior lights, even on the lowest settings are too bright. Kills night vision. It would not be that bright in a real airplane. The GPS also cannot be dimmed. The landing light has way too much particle bounce back… reduces forward vis. This would happen in visible moisture, not clear skies. The exterior lights are great.

This is looking really good and I think I will purchase it. Before I do that though I do have a question for Just Flight (@NORTMAR): can you say why JF offer discounts if you have brought the P3D version of your products, but not if you’ve brought the XP version? I’ve had the email about the Hawk and mentioned the discount, and I’ve also seen it on the Warrior too.

I am guessing (!) that this has something to do with XP being COMPLETELY different in terms of architecture as opposed to MSFS being a highly advanced but still derivative of FSX/P3D.

Hi

I don’t want to be the dissenting voice here, so let me start by saying I have all the JF aircraft on MSFS and with out fail they are spectactular. They all look beautiful and for me, a non-pilot, they all fly beautifully.
This plane is NO different. Its beautiful, its in-depth, its flight model is amazing (I will assume the nose dipping on take-off is a function of the aircraft as is it in the CRJ), it sounds amazing.
For me, one small issue - I get stutters when I fly the plane, Not had stutters for months and suddenly in this plane, I get them - even if I take it out to an area of the world with little or no mods or add-ons.
Now in between the stutters, it runs at 30 to 40fps - but the micro stutters are very strange and I don’t have an explanation.
I have almost 1000 hours in the sim now - saying that in case people think I am new to this!

It’s a great plane, and I suspect as the updates come out this issue may resolve itself.

thanks

Mark

So - it seems to be a low level that it is at its worse (under 700)
Flew out from Vigo in Portugal (?) in the T1 - low level - 80% thrust, stuttering.
Then flew out in the F14B Tomcat (DC Designs) - full after burner, low level, lovely and smooth.

Do you only get this in the T1? I am getting it in every aircraft I use since SU6. There are some threads in the bugs section for it.
P.S this add on is fantastic, the level of detail is amazing.

Hi @SevenCypress91
I only get it in this aircraft.
I have not had stutters since SU5 (despite all the issues it caused for many)

I will go look at the thread for stutters - but I dont have it in anything else.

This is a wonderful piece of art. Art that I thoroughly demolish on landing attempts. Gonna have to put some time in on this one.

I asked the same question after having bought the XP version from JustFlight a year ago. Their response was…

"Sadly as the Hawk for X-Plane was made by different developers, we aren’t able to offer a discount for customers upgrading from the X-Plane version to the MSFS version."

I’m surprised they aren’t offering even a token discount to entice me to buy it. What a great aircraft but I’m happy to wait.

GPS can be dimmed. I remember it was the button on the lower left of the GPS, which cycles the brightness.
