Just Flight Hawk T.1

Just installed the Hawk and have failed at the first attempt of a cold & dark startup.

I’m following the manual I downloaded from their website.

It says climb into the rear seat to configure it first, how the hell do I do that? I start off in the front seat cant see any way to change that?

Go to camera and choose copilot view, or you can autocomplete those checks too.

First very quick trip and snapshot

observations as follows…

  1. Excellent performance. Even on an old i7 2700K, you can rattle along in the weeds without issue.

  2. Flight model. Stability excellent in roll and yaw axes, pitch only slightly less so. Force feedback works a treat on my Logitech G940

  3. Ground handling. Easy and simple to hold on the centreline during TO and landing.

Warp factor 10 is no sweat and the transition to approach phase is sweet, smooth and predictable.

Much work to do yet in terms of setup and familiarisation, but the aircraft is top notch. The icing on the cake must be the visual and sound models. I would rate it as a safe buy as well as a good one.

Or in my case, Happy Simmer = Grumpy Wife :frowning:

i have a problem with This hawk
i saw on documentaion 180 gallons on fuselage, 175 on wings and 380 on external tanks for a total of 735 gallons
in msfs fuel there is no external tanks and i have center 1 is 216 gallons and left main 105 and right main 105 gallons… for a toal of 426 gallons
i missed something ???

Massively jealous to see everyone flying this, hopefully it’ll come to Xbox.

I’ll double check but note that the manual is in imperial rather than US gallons.

216 US Customary gallons is 179.8 UK Imperial gallons and 210 (105x2) US is 174.8 UK so the internal numbers are correct with a tiny bit of rounding up.

Soo many Hawks at Valley today, made the place come alive. Just wish I could communicate with them easily to link up for formation flying etc.

Was having fun with an almost perfect loop above the runway in the Red Arrows T1 with smoke going through Red, White and Blue…Smoke on Noooow.

ok for fuel imperial vs us gallons but where are external tanks ???

I will try that. The dimmer within the unit itself does nothing. One more observation for JustFlight, A few of us in another forum have noticed from full throttle, if you start reducing… nothing happens to the engine for about a quarter travel. You have to move the throttle back a ton to get any response. Like a dead zone, even though we don’t have a dead zone setup. The throttle in sim moves as well. Why is this?

I never heard of a Hawk using drop tanks.

I can second the throttle not doing much when pulling back at first. I use keyboard and mouse due to my set up and it’s the same issue and I am almost certain there’s no deadzones on keyboards or dragging with mouse lol.

Otherwise this is an absolutely amazing plane and worth every penny. Going to be flying this a lot I predict.

The manual says they can equip drop tanks and I found a few pics with a google image search of Hawks with drop tanks like:

Here it says the T1 inner pylons could take drop tanks as well although it says that it seems in relation to export models where a fair few air forces did use them in an actual air defence or ground attack role instead of just a trainer: BAE Hawk so maybe the RAF trainers rarely used the tanks.

Doesn’t seem like the game model lets you equip them though. Either an oversight in the manual or in the model itself I guess.

Edit: found an aircrew manual for the real plane for RAF use and it says all fuel is internal. Guessing the external tanks were for export variants only.

Thanks working now, I was indeed testing looking at the switch on top of the throttle :slightly_smiling_face:

Loving the Hawk. Can I make a suggestion to the Just Flight guys? Is there any chance of creating some in cockpit showcase fixed camera pre-set views for a future update? I think this would really show off the detail in the pilots and with the up coming launch of the new replay feature it would be great for making Youtube videos. Similar to the various clips on Youtube of real fast jet flights with a go pro camera fixed in the cockpit.
