Just Flight Hawk T.1

Nah , not interested in excuses, couldn’t care less about the tomahawk , i care about the money i’ve wasted on an expensive 3rd party aircraft that doesn’t work , priority should be on fixing the problems that have been reported numerous times , going back weeks if not months.

We’ve made no excuses? We have released 25 updates and free upgrades for our MSFS aircraft in the last year alone, including the Hawk, alongside development of new products. I think our reputation for supporting our products speaks for itself.

The product wouldn’t continue to be sold if it was unusable, with its thousands of PC and Xbox users. Aside from the specific flight model updates discussed above, we weren’t aware of any confirmed significant bugs on PC or Xbox, following the release of the last update late last year. However, I will of course investigate what you’ve reported to clarify what is required and come back here shortly.

If you purchased it from us then you’re welcome to a refund or exchange too. Unfortunately I’m not sure what the options are for a Marketplace purchase.

I was replying to the other guy about excuses.
Also , there have been numerous posts on here since September last year regarding the throttle and control issues people are experiencing.

We aren’t aware of any throttle issues in the Hawk that require an update to fix. Reading up through this thread, it looks like the throttle issues listed (i.e. the throttle snapping back to 0, or the throttle only being effective for 50% of its range) are likely to be caused by control assignment conflicts or issues with the sensitivity curves of the throttle axis.

Depending on the external hardware used, the default controller profile could be causing a conflict with the Hawk and it may just need a new profile set up in MSFS Controls Options with the conflicting control assignments removed.

For example, with the default controller profile for the Thrustmaster TCA Quadrant, the fuel levers have multiple control assignments set up for fuel valves, and starters. These control assignments may be constantly being triggered in MSFS depending on the position of the fuel levers on the external hardware. They won’t likely cause any issues in the A320 or other aircraft that have split throttle and fuel levers, but as the Hawk has a combined throttle and fuel lever, and also uses the same fuel valve control assignments to move the throttle into and out of the HP fuel detent, the fuel valve control assignments constantly triggering could be causing the throttle to return to the HP ON (throttle idle) position.

We recently had a similar query on the Just Flight Forum with regard to the Vulcan, which I will link below. Although that thread was related to the Vulcan, the exact same control assignments are used in the Vulcan and the Hawk, so the steps listed can be followed to fix these types of control assignment conflicts in any aircraft: Xbox X and Thrustmaster TCA Quadrant compatibility | Just Flight Community

If you do run into any further issues such as this with any of our products, we would highly recommend getting in touch with us either via the Just Flight Forums or via Just Flight Support, as we are limited with what support we can offer through the MSFS forums.

Anything to report about adjustments to the ref datum position, as described by @GrimPhoenix9349 in this January 10 post? He made it clear in so many words that the fix wouldn’t be instant. Just want to keep the issue alive since it seems like it might explain the variations in handling that have been reported (maybe dependent on payload?) Interested to know if JustFlight has developed any more insight into this and whether it’s on the list of things to address. Thanks in advance for any light you can shed.

Still alive and I’m still exploring as and when I have time, but there won’t be any real movement until the Tomahawk is released.

It appears that increasing the aileron effectiveness from 1 can also give undesireable behaviours, so it may well be that the control surface size will have to be increased to give accurate roll rates . . .

This doesn’t explain the issue with the throttle when using an xbox controller? All i have are buttons to move the throttle in increments, there is no axis to adjust.
No matter what i do , the engine delivers 100 % rpm at or above 55% throttle when looking at it in the cockpit view.

Im sorry but those measures dont fix the throttle issue with the thrustmaster hotas one for xbox. Ive tried linear inputs. Different engine configurations. The throttle only responds at 3 values. 0%,55%,108% inputs and no points in between.
Im disappointed to hear that as many have reported and provided pictures as evidence in this thread that it is still not worth investigating. It may be a small error or something over looked as your other products work fine with the same peripherals. After all the datum point issue was discovered after being dismissed as user error aswell.
Yes your support reputation is great but unfortunately many console users cannot access that support as we dont have a JF account to log in with.
I hope you can see fit to atleast investigate.
Many thanks

As you can see on the throttle display the lever input reads 44% but the engine output is almost max.
If console users arent worth worrying about then its just easier to admit it so we atleast understand that the issue isnt worth bothering with any more.

I’m not sure where the premise of us not worrying about Xbox users has come from, but as Martyn has posted above, we released 25 free updates/upgrades across all of our products for PC and Xbox in 2023 and we take great pride that if a bug gets reported to us, then we will do our best to get the bug fixed as soon as reasonably possible and released as part of an update for both platforms. We never want a customer to be stuck with a product they cannot or will not use.

The issue regarding the throttle is not something we (the Just Flight Development Team) have been made aware of through our support channels up to this point, and therefore, it isn’t something that has required us to look into. This is why we encourage all customers who have any sort of issues with any of our products to seek support through our dedicated support channels. Our support team is there to help you and that is the quickest and most efficient way that we can provide a solution to any problem.

I wasn’t aware that a Just Flight account was required to submit a ticket, but I will pass that feedback on to our IT team in the morning to see if that is something that can be changed. Alternatively, if you do not have a Just Flight account, we will be able to offer support through the Just Flight Forum (a forum account is required to post on the forum, but you will be prompted to create an account when creating a post).

If we are able to determine if there is a bug here, or if there is something we can improve on our end, we can certainly get it fixed and an update released as soon as possible for PC and Xbox. However, I have just loaded up the Hawk, set my Xbox controller profile to default, and I am not able to replicate any throttle issues. As we aren’t receiving large numbers of reports of this issue and as every customer gets the same build of the Hawk, there must be something different on the machines of the users who are experiencing the throttle issues compared to the users who aren’t experiencing the throttle issues, which does suggest that there may be a control assignment conflict or something like an assistance option that is causing the issue.

if anyone who is experiencing throttle issues can please get in touch with us via the Just Flight Support or the Just Flight Forum with details of the issue they are having, we can then take a deeper look into the issue and hopefully get you back flying the Hawk again as soon as possible.

Not having this issue myself. But have to say this is an incredibly professional response which I hope will be of encouragement to those suffering this issue.

Look at these previous posts and the dates , one clearly states that a ticket was submitted

Have the same throttle issues TB flightstick, Auto rudder is only assist turned on.

Im sure they will take a look at it, but unfortunately they are not allowed to offer product support or assistance via these forums, If you report it on their own forums they will get to investigating as soon as they can (other releases come first) But as satated by MANY DEVELOPERS, direct support is banned on these forums.

Any plan to update the flight model with the new ground handling parameters? Seem to be really benefitial for the default C152.

I just took this for a nice flight. The ground handling and landing behavior is great! I had forgotten how rich in detail this module is. The manuals are misnamed. You click on the EFB manual to get the User manual.

After getting reacquainted with this flight model, I noticed something startling. I could not figure out why I could not get a tight, coordinated turn until I discovered that a generous amount of OPPOSITE rudder made the turn perfect.

Good evening.

Just to throw my 2 cents worth in.

I fly on the Xbox series X and use turtle beach velocity one joystick, and I also have the throttle issue that’s listed above. The aircraft either wants 100% or I wants 0%. You simply cannot manage the throttle at all on the aircraft.

I’d also like to say thanks to just flight Devs for the well worked response here. They’re polite and well put.

Many thanks.

hello mate, you know ive also been pulling my hair out with this throttle issue too, ive rebooted the peripheral firmware, ive de installed/reinstalled the product and my entire hangar to see if any thing is causing conflictions, ive tried many different “recommended” input curves/settings and nothing works to clear the throttle range mis alignment. how ever in the last couple days i have noticed some thing else with other products that may just may have something to do with it. Products by another dev (you know which one im most keen on), have slight differences between the PC and Console versions such as drag coefficients, thrust, and velocity readings. for example 2 of the same aircraft, same weight, weather (not just general preset i mean identical settings for baro pressure, temp etc) same location, same time of day and side by side. The PC version has higher thrust and acceleration under dry power than the console version, can hold higher energy at the same AoA/G loading through the same radius corner. the 2 formats have slight differences, so im wondering IF MAYBE Microsoft change some of the coding to suit console on conversion which causes these differences in operation from one to the next. this may also be why the throttle and handling issues are more prevalent for console users than PC. it may also be worth looking at whether those with the issues on PC purchased direct from JF or from MSMP.
It would indeed be a very sad thing IF MS were interfering with developers coding with out the dev being aware and able to compensate for such changes.

I was flying the Hawk and discovered a really cool detail, really increased my immersion.

I will say this is one of the only aircraft that has been out for a long time, and it has appreciated instead of depreciated. Most of the older aircraft were not done well, little to no updates but this aircraft is still one of the top ones in the sim.

If the developer happens to read this, thank you very much for taking the time to code in that head movement. If you ever questioned if it was worth it, to me it was. Thank you.
